Interesting read and concept. I like the science elements she presented but I feel like they could have been more impactful somehow.. The anecdotal evidence of different people was nice, but could have been backed with health metrics to show improvement. Overall, i am inclined to try some techniques since I already know low carb diet improves how i feel, if i can hack my way to a piece of bread or cookies, all the better!

Very interesting. Good tips.

DID NOT FINISH

I didn't realize this book was based on an Instagram account when I first picked it up, but the author mentions it frequently, so I suspect this is a case of a popular influencer with large follower numbers who's been given a book deal. I'm not a scientist, dietitian, or medical doctor; just someone who delves into a lot of health and nutrition books and media, so the intro pulled me in with a good breakdown of nutrition basics, like starches, glucose, insulin, etc. And some of the points are valid, (eat more veggies, less sweets, y'all!). This book has a great GR rating, so I tried to ignore the things I generally find irksome: "Goddess" as a title of assumed expertise, use of the word "hacks" in regard to health-related issues, and anecdotal "I lost 5 pounds in 9 days" type stories as proof of validity, but ultimately these things felt too much like marketing for me to take the book seriously. And once I got to the oatmeal slander, I was done (only sorta kidding, but really? Oatmeal?) Yes, it's a carb, but a fibrous one. I cannot find one article on these here interwebs that excoriates its well-documented nutritional value. And I find it strange that she doesn't mention the difference between simple and complex carbs, not even once that I recall (well, not in the half that I read...). Maybe this is her way of retaliating against a childhood of endless bland porridge mornings. I was raised on bowls of Malt o' Meal and Cream of Wheat so I kinda get it. Anyway, on a positive note, she does reiterate that people should follow the dietary choices that best suits their lives. DNFing this at 50% suits me.

Loved how easy this is to follow and how she broke the information into every day language.

It has some interesting tips that I will try, but the book itself feels very anecdotal.
