I don't know which came first, but I kept getting The Borrowers vibes. This is quite short, so it doesn't have the same world building though it is rather sufficient. I couldn't shake the Forest of Sin name, as that's quite the name of woods for a kids book... Aside from that surprising element, the book was alright.

Was going to just be 4 stars, but the last page got me:

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.
Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”

What a lovely story! Roald always has a way to write that makes you feel like there’s magic everywhere you go. ✨

This is one of my favourite Roald Dahl books, if not for the last quote of the book. It is mystical and cute, and features tiny woodland creatues that live in trees. I think it allows kids to open up their imagination and hearts to a world of nature that they may not even be able to see, and I love this story for that.
