A really interesting book 2, I think I enjoyed the magic and mysterious nature of everything in book 1 more, but I enjoyed the politics of book 2 more. I am interested to see what is going to happen with book 3 because there are a lot of things that have been set up and though it is a bit confusing, I am enjoying where it is going.

An excellent read!!! The highest compliment I personally can give is that it goes straight to my favorites shelf to sit alongside the work of Peter V Brett, Mark Lawrence, Joe Abercrombie and Brent Weeks!!!!
Fast paced series that is full of complex, interesting characters. The interactions and relationships especially between Adare, Kaden and Valyn are completely believable. Loved the strong female characters too, very kick ass! Also while I was reading it I would be thinking that I knew where the story/plot was heading and it surprised me every time! Very enjoyable read!
I loved this book as much as The Emperors Blades and cannot wait to read the next book.

Was skeptical at first, but the slow unraveling of the mysteries that started out from the first book was quite good. Also quite a turn the story takes towards the end. Can't wait to see how all this comes together in the final book.
