The art style is simplistic and detailed, making it well balanced between the two. The dialect is on the lighter side, and it works very well for this story.
A young girl named Shiva was abandoned to the outside world where cursed monsters live to be freed from the inside world of humans. She does not know this and believes her auntie is coming to get her. The cursed monster that is looking after Shiva, "Teacher", knows this secret but continues to let her believe that because he doesn't want to see her upset.
I really enjoyed this first volume and can't wait to read the others!

I cannot express how I enjoyed this, but, so far, its the best and sweetest manga I've read and also the quickest. Love this story. Will re-read.

I read this one quite a bit ago; however, it is beautifully illustrated and it has a good storyline. I will probably pick up the rest of the series soon.
This was a pretty good first volume, although I am hoping to get more background on the characters and the world in the future. Still, the art is absolutely gorgeous and I love the 'monster' designs. The whole thing has a very ethereal fairy tale feel to it that I'm really enjoying. Definitely going to be continuing with this.

Il tratto mi piace molto, sembra quasi come se i disegni fossero stati solo degli sketch ed è una cosa che ho apprezzato molto.
E’ solo il primo volume perciò diciamo che è abbastanza introduttivo come volume, però mi ha emozionato in più parti e mi ha lasciato con la curiosità di sapere cosa accade dopo.

This is similar in theme to The Ancient Magus' Bride, and I picked it up hoping for something along the same lines. Unfortunately, it lacks the depth of feeling (not to mention the quality of art) that TAMB possesses. It isn't bad, and I do want to read the next one to see if the story gets deeper, as well as just to see what happens, but it simply isn't on the same level as Yamazaki-san's amazing series.
