I enjoyed this thoroughly. The build up was great. I like that I often questioned the main character's point of you. I did see some of the big reveal coming but definitely not all of it. It's a great read. Quick, read once you really get into it. If you like psychological thrillers and family drama this is a good book to read.

This may go down as the biggest feel bad book of my year, yikes. I read Gone Girl and hated all the characters but the journey was fun and I liked the twist. In this one, I guessed the ending from the very beginning, hated all the characters, and had to endure the grim descriptions of animal abuse in slaughter houses several times when it doesn’t really add anything significant to the story. I don’t know what makes Gillian Flynn want to spread misery in her books.

Fortunately I couldn’t relate less to these characters 😳

I was disappointed compared to gone girl 😔 just not my book
dark emotional mysterious reflective sad tense slow-paced

This made me viscerally uncomfortable, but at the same time it just has a way of grabbing you and refusing let go until you’ve gotten through it. Reminded me a lot of The Familiar Dark, but somehow more severe. Insane, but also so good.

Read this at the ripe age of 10 years old and I still revisit it at 24. Gillian Flynn the power you hold in your big beautiful brain

Not a good read. Shame.

All triggers, no thrills. Just a whole lot of WTF. Also, another one where book << TV show adaptation.
