Not as twisting and turning as Gone Girl, but a thriller just the same

Comfortable read, writing wise. Weird sexual scenes about 13 year olds that could have not been there, makes it feel like it was written by a pedophile and male author. Only written turns out to be a female. Weird for a woman to be so explicitly focussed on teenage and female bodies. Not a female author that helps societies view of women as anything other than sex objects.

I love Crime Junkie, so I thought I'd like this, but hard pass. Characters are one-dimensional and unbelievable. Instead of trying so hard to be provocative, Flynn should have focused on writing an interesting story.
