I love that the place is a character in this story, it’s portrayed as a villainous presence. Out of all of Flynn’s books, these feel like the most rounded characters with the most fucked up motivations.

I found the ending of this book abrupt. The conclusion and epilogue wrapped up in a page or two after hanging in for so long. Not bad, but not great.

Not normally a book I would go for. The Mother sort of reminded me of the one from the movie Carrie. Good read and for sure a page turner.
