Keely McDemott is a lover of history, and is a archaeologist. Keely is also a object reader and has to be very careful what she lets herself touch, especially if a object has too much violence and history attached to it. Her parents have always considered her a bit crazy, but Keely knows that she can use her gift to help. When a stranger approaches her to go to a distant place with enough archaeological finds to satisfy every appetite. So she reluctantly agrees to go to this "Atlantis", even though she doubts its true existence. Lord Justice has sacrificed himself to a evil goddess, to save his brothers. When he manages to barely escape her realm "the void", and making it safely back to Atlantis, the moment he sees Keely both sides of himself claims her for his own. All he knows is that she is "His" and none other. Justice is half Nereid, and half prince, and has kept that secret until now. When they learn of the location of a certain jewel that is from Poseidon's Trident, both Justice and Keely go in search of it. What they encounter is danger and a flaming passion and a love to encompass them both.

Atlantis Unleashed is the third installment in the Warriors of Poseidon series that Alyssa Day has created. So far I have read the first three books in audio format and what a thrilling ride. I have been loving listening to these audio books, and Atlantis Unleashed is a personal favorite. The narrator was very talented and even though I do get a bit picky about male narrators at times, I felt like the narrator for this book did a outstanding job. It can be hard to find one you really like and can stand listening to. However I felt like he portrayed the story in its truest form.

The story instantly picks up from the last book, where there was a cliffhanger with Justice giving himself up. We start to see the strength and endurance that Justice has. Justice hasn't had a easy living ever since he was born. Justice has had struggles, and we see that he has two sides of himself, and tries to put his darker half under the rug. But when he meets Keely, all bets are off. Justice has never had a harder time controlling the Nereid, but Keely doesn't fear any part of him, she starts to fully accept him. Keely is thrust into a world of danger and a man who stirs her blood and calls to the deepest part of her. At first Keely doesn't want to admit her feelings for this magnificent man, however as they both are going on a mission to find a certain jewel, "The Star of Artemis", she starts to accept Justice and accept who he is and that he is a part of her future.

There is quite a bit of factors involved in this story, but Justice and Keely are the main attraction, and what a circus of adventures, thrills and a beautiful love story. I would have to say it might be my favorite one so far from this series. Its really hard to say which book I love the most so far, but Atlantis Unleashed was full on emotion and sensation and never let up. From beginning to end I was fully enthralled by this love story and all that factors involved in getting this couple their HEA. ASTOUNDING AND RIVETING!! It will blow your minds!!

Adventure, romance, mythology, sea gods, vampires, the lost city of Atlantis, South American jungles and the possible destruction of human kind hang in the balance – it’s a roller coaster ride of action. Atlantis Unleashed, Alyssa Day’s newest installment in her Warriors of Poseidon series has it all. Combine an alpha hero who has suffered imprisonment in the Netherworld with an intelligent, endearing heroine and you have a recipe for one of those ’sit back in your favorite chair reads’.

With regards to the series, Alyssa Day has built a world steeped in the myth of the lost world of Atlantis. What I find particularly interesting about her paranormal world is that vampires and werewolves have come out of hiding and now freely interact with humans. Unfortunately many of these creatures seek to take over the human race and rule the world. It is the duty of the seven warriors of Poseidon to protect man kind and have Atlantis rise again. I found that there is a bit of the urban fantasy element in this series. You have the gritty underground rebellion with humans joining forces with the warriors to stop the insidious overthrow of the human race and save it from the vampires. Many of the women in her series are strong and have that take no prisoners attitude that you see in urban fantasy. Her heroes are straight up paranormal alpha males. However she brings you the best of both possible sub-genres because you definitely get an HEA in an Alyssa Day book.

Specifically, Atlantis Unleashed is the story of Lord Justice and Dr. Keely McDermott. Picking up where her previous book Atlantis Awakening left off, Justice, one of the seven warriors, has sold his soul to the Vampire Goddess to protect his brother. He is trapped in the Netherworld for months enduring unimaginable darkness causing a split personality and throughout the book he grapples with his two sides – his Nereid side and his Atlantean side. Let’s just say his Nereid side is all about power and taking what he wants. His Atlantean side is about integrity and justice. It’s up to Dr. Keely McDermott to inspire him to become the man he needs to be.

If you’re a fan of this series you’ll be happy to visit with previously introduced characters as well as experience the continuation of the world building. If you’re new to the series, this is definitely a stand alone book and can be enjoyed in and of itself. Alyssa Day has a smart way with dialogue as well as prose. Her characters are three dimensional, the humor is spot on and the romance is compelling. She blends the ‘old world’ of Atlantis with a modern conversational tone that spoke to the pop culture geek that lurks inside me. I’m looking forward to the next installment Atlantis Unmasked.

"i want you safely back at the palace. now."
"when has that he-man routine of yours ever worked with me?"

"you don't sound insane. i'm sorry, really. i'm not trying to antagonize or upset you in any way."

"i've got a good healthy dose of scared going on right now, but it's about to get overruled by what my grandmother always called 'pure cussed ornery'."

"he would bathe, simple joy in cleanliness after so long in the void. he refused to consider that the filth touched him on a far deeper level than his skin."

"logic dictated that he assist alexios. emotion battled reason, every instinct he possessed screamed at him to go after quinn. emotion battled reason. longing warred with rationality. emotion kicked logic's ass. he was going after quinn."

"i'm not an idiot or a stupid coed from a cheap horror flick. i'm not going to run screaming into the arms of the guy with the chain saw."

"better to be surprised than to have to live with the anguish of shattered expectation."

Its been a while and yet i am still weak for these atlanteans, along with the strong woman who complete them. This one is probably my favorite so far, it just captured me straight away with both mcs and their various abilities.

I adore Justice he is such a complex fascinating character and i loved the two halfs of him as they come together. The inner conflict and competition, as he learned about his Nereid half and they settle into one with their love of Keely.

Of course her love of both sides of him and understanding is stunning, she stole my heart from the start with her struggles and strength. She is so much fun and a great balance for Justice, they compliment each other so well and i enjoyed their development so much.

Her power is incredible its useful and tragic in ways, when she touches as object she is able to see memories that are connected to it and the strong emotions involved. I loved this though as allowed to learn so much more about atlantis and history, along with the bond between her and Justice.

The romance and connection between these two is stunning from the start, their connection through the void and the fish carving. How they provide and support the other in a way noone else ever has, i loved seeing them build a relationship and family of their own by the end.

I just loved them both so much and they were so entertaining together, from the pancakes to the forest and the defending each other. They were such kindred spirits from the start and so glad they found each other.

Being honest though i got bored of some of the alternate povs, Alaric i find so angsty and boring here although scene with Quinn was sweet. Oh and didn't care for the vampire.. Im being biased though as i wanted to spend more time with Justice and/or Keely because they grabbed me more then the underlying plot developing.

The gem stones and such i couldn't have cared less about, although is interesting to see and will be focus in the rest. Im excited for Tiernan and Brennans book, as i enjoyed their short scenes but otherwise others didn't interest me much. Although will continue series, as adore the writing and world so far.

Overall i had a lot of fun reading this book and sped through it, has a very sweet ending for Justice, Keely and Eleni who is adorable. I shall look forward to reading more of the series xx

I liked this one, not as much as the other two. Justice was too much of the he-man and there wasn't enough banter.

Justice, the illegitimate brother of Vengeance and Conlan, the high prince of Atlantis, sacrifices himself to save Ven and Con from the vampire goddess, Anubisa. Held in the Void, bereft of light, he is on the brink of losing his humanity, but thoughts of Keely McDermott, his Chosen, keep him alive. Keely is an archaeologist at the University of Chicago, who is an Object Reader. She is recruited by an Atlantean seer and taken below the waves. Keely and Justice must search for the Star of Artemis, one of the seven jewels lost from Poseidon's trident when Atlantis sank below the waves. This jewel will also help Justice reconcile his two natures: one as a violent Nereid and the other as an Altantean. They travel to Guatemala, to the site of vast ruins, overrun by vampires to find the gem and free the populace from the vampires. Lots of action in every sense of the word. Another entertaining read in the Warriors of Poseidon series.
