I found it somehow hard to connect with the story and the characters. There's a lot of things going on and a lot of cliché things that I wasn't a fan of. Ava is a such a lover girl and sees the good in people. I genuinely feel like she deserves someone who mirrors her soft heart. I'm not fan of an overly possessive MMC with zero to no regard of the FMC's feelings. It feels like Alex was reducing Ava as some kind of object to possess that's why I find it very hard to root for them. I love groveling in romance books and I'm just glad they didn't just kiss and got back together the moment they reunited. I know it's not a book I'm going to rate 3 stars and above the moment I'm already tempted to dnf the book. I was just itching to finish it just for the sake of it. I see the potential of the plot but the execution was just not it. Hope the rest of the books in this series is better.

Es una historia súper entretenida y con mucho salseo. Me gusta mucho el cliché de tío malo chica buena y que sea el mejor amigo de su hermano. Se lee muy rápido y el final me gustó.
Me dio mucha pena como quedaron las cosas con Josh su hermano. No me esperaba al principio lo que tramaba Alex, aun así me gustó mucho el cambio que dió. Me pareció un poco surrealista como supera su hidrofobia, aunque me gustó saber de ella y el motivo.
Me gustó que sus pasados fueran traumáticos y todo lo que les trae en el presente debido a ello. Me quedé con ganas de saber qué pasó entre la amiga de Álvaro y Josh su hermano.
Me gustó lo estratega que es Alex y como pega con Ava que es muy sentimental. Iván y Michel no me gustaron nada desde el principio

Someone in their review said a Classic case of "I would never tolerate this man's behavior in real life, but I can't get enough of it in books" and I wholeheartedly agree.
I really enjoyed this book, I read it in a few hours. My favorite thing about this book was the plot. The plot was plotting for sure. I was eating it up. It was one thing happening after the other. I totally didn't expect Ava's dad to be connected in any way to Alex, so that was a surprise. Ava's dad, Michael killing his ex-wife, and then trying to kill his daughter TWICE was CRAZYYY. I mean it made sense when he revealed that he wasn't really her dad, but dude you're a psychopath. I had multiple theories as to why Michael acted the way he did towards Ava, but the last thing that was on my mind was that he hated her because he wasn't his daughter and that he killed her mom because of that. My mind was honestly blown. I really believed Ava's mom tried to kill her until Ava remembered what actually happened. Michael had me fooled for sure. What also blew my mind was Alex's uncle being the one who really killed his parents. I knew Ivan and his brother had a fallout and I was a bit suspicious for like two seconds when I read that part where it was first mentioned they had a fallout, but it completely left my mind as I continued reading. So, I was shocked when finding out he was the one who really killed Alex's parents. Dude is also psychotic, how can you kill your brother, sis in law, and niece (almost nephew too) all over your sister-in-law rejecting you? That's some psychotic sh*t. I loved where the direction of the plot went because I really didn't expect it to go towards a dark/action-packed plot.
We love a man who "hates everyone, but her." Alex was possessive as hell and I loved it. There were a few instances where I was like "You're doing too much," for example, the boudier photoshoot. I would never tolerate ANY of his sh*t irl, I would get the ick and get a restraining order. But, I eat this sh*t up in a book, call me crazy I don't care.
I loved Alex and Ava's relationship, the banter and the connection between them. The tension with those two was sizzling until it finally exploded between them and turned into some hot smutty scenes. When he wraps his hand around her neck...butterflies. That man is sexy asf. The spicy scenes were everything. The parts of the book where Alex was so cute towards Ava, like canceling his date to stay in with her to watch movies. I melted at those parts.
I usually don't like second-chance tropes and this involved it, but I actually didn't hate it. Ava stood her ground, and let Alex grovel for a year before she took him back. Ava didn't take him back after 5 minutes like most girls do in these books. Also, to me personally, I think what he did was forgivable (after a certain period of time passes,) he just needed to show he could be trustworthy to Ava again. He lied to her too much, which understandably made Ava not trust Alex anymore. But after showing he could be trustworthy again and groveling (which as he should,) I don't hold it against Ava for taking him back.
What I didn't like:
The ending could've been way better than what it was. I felt it was boring, lacking, and maybe the author was lazy with it. It has a lot more potential.
The part I was like "wtf is Alex doing" was when he started singing...wtf was that omg. I could not for the life of me imagine him on stage singing from his heart in front of a crowd when he is supposed to be this "shows no emotions, cold-hearted man." When I read I see the whole story vividly in my head, basically like a movie is playing, and when I got to that scene of him singing...I DIED like actually died of laughter. What are you doing get down please, so embarrassing. Alex doing that was so opposite of his character. We all know he would never do that...so why was he up there? That was embarrassing.
