4.5

This 6th book was written AND takes place 10 years after book 5, and serves as both the conclusion to the Kenzie and Genarro series as well as a sort of Coda to the events of book 4 (*Gone, Baby, Gone*).

The shortest book by a sizeable margin (8 hours vs the usual 13ish) I'm not really sure why it's rated so much lower than the other 5 books, that made me pretty wary when I started, but it seemed par for the course for most of it, until the ending which I thought was outstanding for both the series and book 4.

I'd give it 5 Stars as I was sobbing by the end, but the start did feel a little weird, not quite sure why. I may just have to adjust my ratings for 3 and 5 down to a 4, as honestly I had a hard time recalling what happened in them 😬

I also found it hilarious that Jonathan Davis chose to affect a Boston accent for this one when he didn't do it for the first 5 books lmao.

Overall I'd give the series a solid 4.5, huge rec, and as expected I'm already missing K&G quite a bit.

Yet another fabulous book by Dennis Lehane. We meet Amanda once again, 12 years after Patrick and Angie found her, which is detailed in "Gone Baby Gone." A lot has changed in all of their lives, and I thought this was the perfect conclusion to Patrick and Angie's saga.

Not nearly as satisfying as the original series of Kenzie/Gennaro books but a nice way to revist and wrap up the series.

The crew is back but they are more mature and just older. Story rings true for the time elapsed - all characters have mellowed even Bubba - which was sort of a disappointment and yet....

Dude. I loved this book. Dennis Lehane is a master at noir and really creating dialogue that is believable and easy to read and frankly pretty funny. This may be the last in a line of suspense novels starring two recurring private detectives that are great protagonists. They do not need to be read in order necessarily, though if you have not read [b:Gone Baby Gone|425123|Gone, Baby, Gone (Kenzie & Gennaro, #4)|Dennis Lehane|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1289451583s/425123.jpg|1234238] I would say to read that first before picking this guy up, since they are connected. This is a quick and witty read, and worth checking out.

I love the characters of Kenzie and Gennero and in this one they certainly are more grown up as they were when they were first introduced. This one wasn't quite as strong as his past books, still had a nice twist in the end, but I just wasn't quite as invested as I was in earlier books. Still very good though and would recommend if you're a fan

not as good as Gone Baby Gone, but a quick and fun read nonetheless.
