IDK my head hurts

Unputdownable, unforgettable, and utterly brilliant, this book is a must-read for all romance enthusiasts. It's emotional, action-packed, and simmering with filthy sensuality. Gawd, I love a tortured hero, and Six doesn't disappoint. He's guarded and vicious, broken and strong, delicious and captivatingly complex. Put aside any bias you might have for the sub-genre, and read this book. I can't recommend it enough.

Don't remember much about this one, but I think I had fun reading it.

The beginning had emotional turmoils but everything fizzled out towards the end.

There were a lot of adult themes and scenes of pure suffering but in the second half of the book, that same emotional torment is just forgotten.

The whole book does have a certain writing quality that reminds me of reading a Wattpad story but I was too enraptured with the story to care.

Overall it kept my attention but the writing wasn't consistent and the ending is rushed.

I love post-apoc, so this was a fun little smut read. It went a little too "war-violence" like most PA you find out there, but still was able to keep with it. (Read the content warnings - not just mine, but others too in case I missed things!!!)

I acknowledge that this book has tonnes of solid 4/5 star reviews but it just didn't hit for me. I got over half way through and started to consider just skipping to the end, and I realized then that I wasn't enjoying the book at all and hadn't been for quite a while.
I think it was hard for me to connect with six when he couldn't/didn't speak, and for the first 20% of the book I thought there were only two main characters, I thought six was Dani on the other side of the wall looking like a boy. I was confused. Im just not all that invested in the storyline, it's very drawn out .. super dark and just not my cup of tea. I wanted to give it a shot but this one just isn't it for me.

Whew make sure you read the trigger warnings before this one. In a world so dark and despondent there is a wholesome love story. I am not one to read anything dystopian and especially with zombies this book was different, I was recommended this author over and over again so I decided to give this a try. I’m so glad I did the writing was amazing and not like anything I have read before. I will now devour everything she has written.

I really enjoyed the first 75% of this but when it skipped forward I lost interest and skimmed the rest (though the ending was quite strong too). Basically for the most part it is a very realistic dark portrayal of an apocalypse. I like that indie books can go further than traditionally published books, and include things like graphic rape and savage murder. Normally I would not like to read books with these in them but they suit an apocalypse novel and I believe such events would be highly likely if the world fell apart. What I didn’t like was the gross sappy love between the main characters. It was cringe and I rolled my eyes a lot. I do admit the story got a bit too dark for my liking at points and I had to divert to a lighter fluffy romance sometimes to clean my mind. I don’t think I’ll be continuing the series as I am over the two main characters and their relationship, even if the world building is great. Rating is probably more a 3.5 stars.

i have not read a dystopian novel since my teens but i’m working on keri lake’s backlist so here we are. just wow!!! i’ve sat on this review for awhile trying to do this book justice but i’ve decided to give my thoughts per usual… anyways, if any of those tropes above sound interesting to you. then read. this!!

it hooked me from the jump. i was underlining so many things trying to understand this future world. it is wild af, gritty, horrifying, and f*cking gut wrenching at times. and the plot twists!!! jeez, my mind was blown
