Popsugar 2022: 19) A book set during your favorite season

I'm such a sucker for these "stepping up for the daddy" romances, especially when it's got the friends to lovers and unrequited love tropes

Books that give so many feels are so satisfying and Kelsie Rae's Liv does just that. Told mostly from Liv's point of view, we get to take her journey from grief to a second chance at love. Liv's husband Adam dies unexpectedly. She is only 23, pregnant and scared. When Luke, Adam's best friend comes to her aid, things begin to look up. But will Luke's high school crush on Liv still come into play? Kelsie Rae's debut novel is low angst, heart breaking and heart warming. I enjoyed Liv's life changing experiences, learning to deal with pregnancy, deciding what is best for her and her baby and her interactions with Luke. I loved Luke's protectiveness and constant second guessing of what is right for him. It made the story more realistic for me. It's a slow burn, passionate and loving. I really enjoyed the story.

Amanda Stribling brings her talent to this story. She has an emotional voice, perfect for Liv. She gives her the warmth and depth to make her story ring true. She easily transitions to Luke with his voice strong and full of feeling. He is a compassionate man and you can feel it through her narration. Another great listen!

Sweet read

This was such an adorable heart squeezing read. It pulled at all my heart strings and made me fall in love with Luke and Liv. This story begins on a very sad and tragic note but ends on a high and happy note.

Such a gripping page turner highly recommend.

This is the author's debut and I loved it and never wanted to put it down (but I had to cause I moved house and was unpacking as well as mummy duties to my 4 year old son and almost 1 year old daughter). I can't wait to read more from this author and see what happens next in this series.

Liv married her high school sweetheart. Her life could not be any more perfect. Then tragedy hits and she loses the love of her life and the morning of his funeral she finds out she is pregnant. Now she has to figure out what she is going to do as Adam was her whole life.

Luke was Adam and Liv's best friend all through high school. Luke is in love with Liv but Adam got to her first. When he and Adam have a falling out, he walks out of their lives and leaves town to give Adam and Liv a real chance. He was never supposed to see them again. But when Adam dies, he goes back to say goodbye to his best friend.

I loved the Epilogue. It updates you on where the characters are in the future. It was a perfect ending to an amazing story.

Its a must read so go and one click it now.

Ex best friends widow, pregnant with said friend baby, catnip. This was my first and it looks like her debut book.

The writing is simple and realistic. There were many moments in here that felt like I could have said something .
Great first story.

This book did not read as if it was by a debut author! Kelsie Rae did a wonderful job with writing Liv.

Liv's husband, Adam, had just passed away. She finds out she is pregnant the same day as the funeral. Without a job, her apartment lease up in a week, and no other family, she has no idea what she is going to do. In high school, Liv, Adam, and Luke had been inseparable, but lost touch when they graduated and Luke went away to college. He steps in to help Liv out.

Liv was a well-written debut novel. The plot was well-planned and the characters were well-developed. The side characters were a great addition, as well, especially Luke's sister. I think the only thing that kept this from being a 5 star read was that I felt like there was too little emotion about Adam's death.

This was a great book, and I am so happy that I read it. It is definitely on my reread list, and I will certainly keep an eye out for more from Kelsie Rae (Breezy's story next!!).

I really wanted to like this book but I didn't feel Any connection with the characters or their relationship. The potential wss definitely there, if the author had started with them in high school, I feel like the reader could have much better felt the connections.
