this should be called “the sorrows of wilhelm and charlotte” for having to endure the torment that was this man!!!!!! werther is basically an 18th century, german and depressed joe goldberg.
also, how awful it is to be a woman and end up being the object of someone’s obsession simply by being nice and pretty.
the longest short book i have ever read - boring, annoying and a really twisted idea of romance. the next person to recommend this to me will be blocked.
