Book Review⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Let’s start with the fact that I am a John Grisham super fan! I love his books and have read most of them, if not all of them. How many you ask? Well, if I counted write 50 books! These books are the ones that got me back into reading as I working my way through his backlist.

Camino Ghosts is book three in The Camino Island series and I loved it too! The way John Grisham writes, I just get so sucked into the story and invested in the characters and their lives. When a giant resort developer wants to develop a deserted island off the coast of Camino Island. The only thing that stand in their way is Lovely Jackson, the last living inhabitant of the island. We discover the remarkable history of the island and the curse that has kept it safe. I can’t do this book justice, if you haven’t read this author you should.

mysterious fast-paced

The third entry in the series finds Grisham returning to familiar ground with a legal courtroom thriller - although the thrills are quite low key and the pace is pretty relaxed. The main characters from the series are sidelined somewhat for a story about slavery reparations, which is interesting rather than exciting and ends up being a little underwhelming after a bright start. While enjoyable enough, you miss the community of characters built up in the first two books.

An interesting story and characters. A bit slow to start and I would have enjoyed knowing what was based on real history, but I liked it. Read for book club.
