Elin Hilderbrand

3.72 AVERAGE

Sibling relationships are complicated. 3.5 *

I like Elin Hilderbrand. Her books are fluffy and fun and synonymous with summer reading. Her last few books have not been all that great, and this one was a fun, quick read, probably somewhere between a 2.5 and 3 for me. The characters are less then likeable, and I found myself reading just to read, but it's certainly a readable, quick read book.

I was going to give this book two stars, but I got to the eleventh disc out of twelve, and I had enough of the ridiculousness.

3.5 Stars. A light, fun read full of Nantucket/Martha’s Vineyard charm.

Fun beach read.

Once again, Elin has a perfect beach read for me. Really enjoyed this one!

3.5. Enjoyed the vocabulary, and characters.

I tend to get hooked on books fast, but this book took until about half way through to catch my attention. Before that I was reading a little here, a little there: never too bored but not really too engaged in the story. I did like the last chapter and how it ended from the dog’s perspective, that was a cute touch. One of the reasons I may not have been super into the book was that the feud between the sisters was not super believable. It honestly would have been more believable that they were arguing about something petty than one sister blaming the other for her sons death. The whole time I kept thinking about how much they both needed a therapist.
