The Identicals

My Mom recommended this book, and I enjoyed sharing in the story about Pony with her, which is a story very near to my eldest daughter’s antics in her youth. It was a nice read, made me hungry for food and to visit the islands; it was also light material, with heart, which was a nice read during the current events.
emotional lighthearted medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No

As you would expect... ridiculously unbelievable, but fun escapism!

This was just what I needed- a light, beach read.

I really enjoyed the dynamics of this story. It took me a bit to get into the story as the different viewpoints were not just of the characters, but the islands themselves. Tabitha and Harper Frost were complex characters, something that I don't find too often with books I read. It's such a quintessential beach read. I only wish I was on a beach while reading it.

The Identicals is about a set of twin sisters who haven’t been on speaking terms for a while and reconnect after the death of their father. The story follows their and their family’s experiences and relationships on Nantucket Island. I listened to this on audiobook and it took me a while to get into it. I rewinded to the beginning at around 20% and even after the second time I still wasn’t into it and almost did not finish. I continued listening and ended up liking it. It’s a light summer read!

3.5

Fun summer book!

Flew through it as always :) these books are never too difficult to figure out, but that's not why I read them - they're relaxing!

3 1/2

Actually 3 1/2. Quick easy read. Not incredibly deep, but interesting enough to keep flipping pages. Perfect beach or light read.

No no no. Not another idiotic book about twins who don’t get along! And the blame for things going bad being placed on women when there was a useless man who caused all the misery? Absolute and utter rubbish.
Not a single character was likeable. Every trope in history was thrown in this book. Horrendous in every way.
