I put off reading Done and Dusted for so long because I was worried I’d hyped it up too much in my head or that I’d get so engrossed in it that I’d do nothing else but read and re-read it. Well, I can safely say that I read it very quickly and I didn’t overhype it. Done and Dusted is a sunshine-y book. I feel light and joyful from reading it. It’s a welcome relief from some of the more devastating, traumatic reads I’ve been reading recently, for sure!
Done and Dusted is a short, fast-paced romance with a beautiful backdrop and a gorgeous array of characters. For a book so short and snappy, you get such an understanding of who each character is, which is something so many authors miss out. I feel like I know each of the characters so well, and can understand them all to a good enough extent to easily identify where they fit in the upcoming books.
The humour in Done and Dusted is so fun. Nothing beats a little sarcasm, and so having characters like Teddy as well as our main couple, Emmy and Luke, made the story so enjoyable. I can’t wait to see Teddy and Gus inevitably fall in love against their best wishes. Hate is the only emotion more passionate than love after all.
Is Done and Dusted the best written piece of literature in the world? No. But is it a joyful, fun and easy read that will make you smile and giggle and also really want to get down to the stables even though it’s 2am and they’re closed? Absolutely.
Can’t wait to carry on with the other books now!

Emmy and Luke were both great characters! I loved being in both of their POVs, with their funny intermonologues about being confused about having feelings for the other person and their great banter with each other. They were honestly adorable, especially during the sweet moments in the second half of the book. They also had amazing chemistry!
I really liked them individually. I thought Luke’s story of having an extremely rough childhood but still managing a way through to be a successful business owner was pretty inspiring. I loved how Emmy had the sports career, subverting normal gender roles in many books. I also thought the storyline with her mental block was super interesting and very unique to this story and her character. I also have ADHD and I really appreciate when I see aspects of myself, no matter how quirky, reflected in the characters I read, which is exactly what happened with Emmy!
Overall, this was a really fun romance and I’m really excited to travel back to Rebel Blue Ranch for Gus’ (even if he really annoyed me at the end there) and Wes’ love stories! Mostly, I’m excited to see Teddy refuse to take Gus’ crap!
