Spare

Prince Harry

3.79 AVERAGE

Spare is Prince Harry’s personal memoir, offering an unfiltered glimpse into royal life, from the devastating loss of his mother, Princess Diana, to his complicated ties with the monarchy, the media, and even his own family.

Harry reflects on his early years growing up as the “spare” to the heir, struggling with questions of identity and belonging within a royal institution that often felt cold and inflexible.

He opens up about his mental health struggles, his time in the military, his personal relationships, and the constant, often brutal scrutiny of the British press.

Good to read an insider’s account.

I was unsure what I would think of this but I actually enjoyed it. I don’t follow the royals very closely but it was interesting to hear an insiders perspective, regardless of bias. It’s tough to know how factual things are in regard to this family but I admire Harry’s commitment to his family through it all. Definitely would recommend on audio!

Nicely wrote, easy to read, i would say it was informative.
informative reflective slow-paced

Incredibly eye opening and emotional. I was skeptical at first but I’m thoroughly reeling, as I’m sure Lady Di is up in the great beyond. Highly recommend listening to the audiobook read by Harry himself

Enjoyed reading Harry’s burn book but also why was I reading about the damn war for a hundred pages?

I have always been Team Harry and Meghan, and this book definitely solidified that! Such a vulnerable account of Harry’s life as a royal. So proud of him for making the best decisions for his mental health and that of his wife and children. A little long, but overall great memoir!

The story of a mostly regular man born into a ridiculous family.
