Picking up where Of Poseidon left off, this book again delivered an amazing story involving Emma, Galen, and their families. I loved how they worked together to help change the minds of the archives. This story shows how times change and our laws and ways of life have to change with the times. Looking forward to book 3!!!
Pretty much have the same review for this one as the first one: I liked it, it wasn't really a favorite, but I'm instantly picking up the next one, so it was definitely a worthwhile read.
Warning: May contain spoilers for book one
This book takes up a few hours after Of Poseidon left off. Galen goes to fetch Grom, and Emma's mom knocks both Emma and Rayna out with chloroform and kidnaps Emma away. Turns out she's convinced she killed Grom in the mine explosion and this whole thing has been one elaborate set up to arrest her. Yeah, if I didn't already think her mother was nuts (who asks her daughter's new boyfriend why he doesn't want to bang her daughter?), this would have fully convinced me. All the chances he had, all the times they were alone, and all the other ways he could have arrested her if he wanted too, and she thinks he would think that was the right time. And telling her daughter that he never really loved her, that he only ever wanted to get to her mom, that's just cruel. And the worst part was Emma starts to question it, and believe it might be true. I really don't like when I plot is driven by a lack of communication/misunderstanding, and that's exactly what happens for 1/3 of the book.
Then, the rest of the book is centered around trying to expose Jagen and Paca, while being put on trial themselves for all sorts of nonsense. The whole thing was frustrating and unbelievable, but like a guilty pleasure, I couldn't put it down. Then there's a sad twist right at the end that I totally wasn't expecting.
Galen and Emma spend almost the entire book apart. I believe there's maybe two scenes where they are together. And considering that they just became an actual couple at the end of the first book, it makes for poor relationship development. This whole series is pretty romance centered, but most of it is yearning for each other, and not actually being together. Don't get me wrong, I like Emma and Galen together, but I would like to actually see Emma and Galen together. There's also not a lot of Rayna+Toraf, which upsets me because they are my favorite couple of the series. But they too were apart most of the book.
This was a cute continuation of the trilogy; even though it was frustrating at times, it was a fast read.
3.5/5

Meh. I didn't like this one as much as the first. Cute story though.

EDIT: My reaction gif has a bad word in it. Scroll quickly if you don't like bad words. Enjoy the gif if you like bad words and Loki.
It was an easy read but some of it was just...Eh. Not much happened.
And the amount of mushy- gushy romance had me like...

If my boyfriend was that sugary-sweet with me, I would scream.

Short Review: I am hate reading this series at this point. i hated book 1 but i need O titles, so here i am reading this. Want me to give you the run down on this book? The MC is told not to go into the water, know how i know that! she says it about every 15mins. "Galen said not to go into the water. Galen said not to go into the water" and guess what the genius B did, WENT INTO THE WATER! then the other thing is the kid doesn't know if he should mate with the MC or the MC's mom. Smh. I just don't see it.
