3.5

Waffled between a 3 and 4 here, landed on a 3.5 I enjoyed this overall, but I didn't quite connect with it in the way that I did the first one. I think it's because emotionally most of the important stuff happens off page in large (and random) time hops- the pain, the longing, the anguish, so it makes the stakes feel so much lower than in book one emotionally - even though in theory it's been 13 years of distance and heartache. But it doesn't quite FEEL like that- it seems more so told because again the hard parts of this all happen off page. I did like the characters, and there is a lot of grovel (though I found some of it unimpressive bc the guys were so passive, perhaps because our omega here is a bit more dominant). Ultimately, there isn't really. much other plot other than time hopping and grovel, the conflict is being the omega so late and their big mistake- and by the time we finally got to the forgiveness sand heat it felt so drug out that I was almost less invested in it. Things also didn't really feel fully tied up with Cyrus to me. Ultimately, I liked it okay but didn't LOVE it like the first book, and started getting a little disengaged towards the end when the good stuff (sexually) started to happen and then it was just over.

The pacing is off for me. And the things that happen don’t always interconnect well. It almost feels like a series of episodes of a cable show.

I liked the first of the series, but just something felt off about reading this one.

What a story!

I loved this story. It is a unique take on the omegaverse. The guys mess up, big-big... but the best part is they GROVEL, like hurts so good groveling. I really enjoyed everything about this book! I can't wait to read more from this author.

Homeboy’s name is slime…slime. You also had Icarus valentine. What even is that.

The book was so disjointed parts of it were delightful and parts were psycho babble bullshit. I really should have DNF’d but I was already so far in.

Jordan was annoying and only got more annoying.
