See this book is a perfect representation why I don’t have hope I don’t do hope yet I tried 3 fucking books THREE OF THEM nothing got better not one goddamn thing not even this smut maybe it’s me but this book was so straining I switched to audio 8 hours should never take you 4 days minus the first 5-7 chapters I don’t like to dnf so push thru but that my hopes were wasted like this SHIT NOT EVEN THE SMUT WAS WORTH IT

It was missing so much again and again every book was missing something some a little something some a lot but everyone is missing character or development of some sort how is it we don’t know shit about them her name is Gianna and she’s extremely bitchy his name is Matteo and he is dangerous and cocky wohoo I can’t I can’t it was just something small happened smut then repeat then one big thing and then every one loves each other I thought I would like them more when I get to their book I really really really did because Matteo seemed fun and she… she had something yet I was utterly disappointed I did have so much hope but I maybe for someone else it’s just not for me at all

eh
it was ok
the smut was decent ig
literally no angst
it takes him like 3 chapters before he caves and sleeps with her
make him yearn
make her yearn
i need her to be sad and depressed that she’s not loved
i want her to get hurt and force him to realise his love
i want him grovel
to cry

Tropes: ▪ Mafia ▪ Enemies to Lovers ▪ Arranged Marriage ▪ Possessive MMC ▪ Touch her & you ☠️ ▪

I'm such a sucker for a good Enemies to lovers and this one was great! I read bound by honour years ago and for some reason didn't continue the series, I skipped book 2 because I'd seen this one on tik tok and as a mood reader this one was calling to me. I will be going back for book 2 and then continuing the series though!

This book follows Gianna and Matteo, they meet when Gianna's sister and Matteo's brother get married. Gianna is determined to never marry a made man and Matteo is determined to marry Gianna!

I really enjoyed this book, with Gianna in new places, their relationship, Matteo's obsession with her and just the general Mafia vibes. You definitely don't have to read the previous books but the two I've read are really good!

It's not easy to enjoy this book to its fullest when you don't grow found of Gianna. There's a thing called being independent and another called being selfish. I completely understand her distaste for the life she grew into but putting her family, especially Aria, in danger was such a big no for me. Mostly because she didn't even give an opportunity to Matteo.
When Aria helped her, I was just so upset and the entire time Gianna was in Europe was infuriating because you just know she isn't cut off to a "normal" life and she knew it too. And she continued to annoy me throughout the entire book...
The main reason I enjoyed this book was because of Matteo. The way he talked and acted regarding Gianna was really so interesting to see... He never truly tried to hide his feelings for her and so far the other books hadn't shown that. Plus, he is just so hilarious.
The bonus part of this book is that it finally has a dual pov!
I initially scored this 2,5⭐️ but I changed it to 3⭐️ because of Matteo.

Matteo & Gianna

Read this if you want to take a break from good books with a trashy read and also want to be frustrated with how bad it is.

Terrible! Writing was painful, FMC was intolerable, and the plot was either nonexistent or microscopic. I wanted to DNF so bad but finished out of pure spite just to be able to say that I gave it a fair chance to somehow impossibly get better (hint: it didn't)

Back at it with the shitty erotica - I will admit, at least this one displayed some level of plot that has been clearly outlined and is semi-interesting. HOWEVER, the complete unecessary emphasis on the outfit's protocols such as viewing women as property, labelling them 'dirty' after sex and the unecessary sexual, physical and domestic violence against them was just so off-putting. I understand the use of such things as a plot device or characterisation, but it was handled completely wrong. Disappointing to see such ideals perpetuated by a female author. Only gave 2 stars because enemies to lovers is my favourite trope (although the tension, characterisation and chemistry between the main couple was essentially non-existent and entirely forced). Don't think I can handle the next book...
