Meeting Luka has changed Aspens life in more than she ever imagined. He's not the vampire she expected him to be. Which forces her to question everything she's know about vampire and the life she was raised in. Maybe they aren't the blood sucking killers that she's been led to believe. Aspen will have to choose to believe the truth of keep her head in the sand.
I knew this one was going to be amazing as we had a taste of Luka from the Wolf Girl series which I love. I just love Aspen right from the start she's this spunky red head who is bad-ass in her own right. She and Luka who have this instant chemistry that works if they can both accept they are in this together. I love that Demi and the crew are in this one as she's one of my all time favorite characters and I've missed her.
Leia Stone is an auto buy must read author for me. I've read most of her book and truly love every story each one. She creates these worlds filled with unique characters that capture the heart as well as the imagination. It's impossible not to love every book she's written. I admit this one has sat on the shelf far longer than it should have because it's amazing. I devoured it in just one afternoon. A must read if you love action packed slow burn romance.

This was so good. It was fast-paced and so interesting. I really loved the twist that Maz was bad because I thought Sterling was the entire time (sorry bro). I also liked that Luka had a betrothed. Added a little spice to their lives. Excited to see what happens.

Luka is a vampire who will definitely charm the socks off of you! hehe.
This first book begins with setting the basis and giving a nice mix of information and teasing the sexual tensions between Aspen and Luka.
Aspen being the Vampire Hunter who is tasked with killing Luka, only to let him go free after he saves her. Then something unexpected happens between the two, that neither of them thought possible. They bonded.
This book is tied up a lot to religion, faith and belief. It wasn’t too heavily piled on, so it wasn’t a deal breaker being that I’m not exactly a very religious person myself so I didn’t mind the discussions on Aspens faith, i actually thought that was a nice touch.
I also liked how Aspen questioned her faith a lot when it was revealed she was being lied to. But she always came back to the belief that it wasn’t God who had deceived her but the people she looked up to and blindly followed. I liked hoe this conveyed a good sense of reality on how many people can twist religious beliefs for their own gain, but just because they’re bad doesn’t mean all of religion is.
The Dark Bite starts out with a nice pace to the build up that you didn’t expect coming. Leia Stone is back again with her twists and turns that I’m here for!

A mid book, good for when you are between release dates for other books (especially if you long for their writing style—I really liked the Wolfed: Cursed By Love (Wolfed, #1) and I am eagerly awaiting the 2nd ).
To say it outright, I won`t continue with this series because there are other books out there that have caught my eye and demand my attention, but I don`t think that the series per whole is bad
What`s Going on in The Book:
The protagonist is in a vampire hunter cult. She falls in a type of mating bond with a vampire royal. It turns out that they are linked from now on. He can no longer drink any other`s blood, except hers.
I did not really like this concept.
It also annoyed me that him having to drink from her to survive was the thing by which the entire plot was hanging. This excerpt is from the protagonist`s POV (her):
“Luka would need to feed while I was gone….Frick.”
At which point my question was what is the difference anymore between having a bounded vampire and an infant that needs to suckle, then?
Then, I came with the brilliant question of why doesn't she pump out some blood for him to have in bottles?
But, apparently, the book considered this question too, but CHAPTERS AFTER the firsts mentions that he will have to feed exclusively from her.
This was the rule written in a book:
“One final mention. In a bonded pair, the vampire must never drink the feeder’s dead blood. It acts as poison and will kill them.”(It appeared in bold in the book, too)
Overall, not a bad book, but it did not make me spin.
