This book was a bit of a disappointment for me. I’ve always loved Grady Hendrix as an author but feel like this work is missing something. The interesting character work that Hendrix loves to incorporate is still present but this book lacks the edge and grit needed throughout to make it’s story complete. As it stands the book takes a bit too long to get the plot rolling, then too long to set up its conflicts, then is all too quick to resolve them. With a bit more polish I think this could’ve been a masterpiece with what Hendrix tries to say and accomplish but with what’s here, it’s unfortunately a bit lacking.
