Even though the examples in this book date from the 80s, it's a relevant discussion of how the design of objects affects our interaction with them.

Would probably be better if I hadn't already read so many UX books that say the same thing in a lot less words

Honestly, Steve Krug was right - I’ll never look at a door the same way again

Verbose and longwinded.

Beginning was interesting and informative but he ran out of things to say and kept going on tangents to make word count.

This was reccomended to me by our GT resource teacher as an intriguing and informative read. Instead I found it slow and redundant. It may have been better to read rather than listen to.

I would love to read an updated version that discusses the use of smartphones in everyday design as many of the "what ifs" Norman proposes are now realities due to the widespread adoption of cell phones, Bluetooth, wifi, and computer innovations.

Great points to consider when working with a product any product. Technology changes greatly people change very little

A little dated, but extremely useful to understand principles of product design. A good reminder that there are no inept users, only bad design. Makes you examine everything in your everyday life from a design perspective. So the next time you open an app and wonder why you can't figure out what to do, remember it's not you, it's just bad design.
