This was my first book by Lauren Landish so I didn’t know what to expect. Thank goodness it can be read as a standalone because I was unaware that this was a part of a series. While it wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever read, it was an okay romance.
I like the main characters Dominick and Allie enough. They had great chemistry and their sex scenes were pretty steamy. I just can't rate it any higher because it was lacking something. Maybe in depth? I don’t know, but I was never able to connect fully to the story or characters.
Overall it was okay. Hopefully the next book I pick up by her will better!

I really enjoyed this thrilling, and sexy romance. Dominick Angeline is the head of the crime family in East Robinsville. He knows everything and everyone in his town and rules resolutely. This puts a target on him and anyone who is important to him, including the sexy, naive, Allie Bancroft. Ellie is a dancer at his gentlemens club by night and a ballet instructor by day. This is not how she planned for her life to go, but it has made her stronger and it pays the bills. When Ellie gets caught in a dangerous situation, Dom becomes obsessed with her and will go to extreme measures to keep her safe. Ellie is intrigued by the dangerous, broody boss and they soon find they can't stay away from each other. They come from very different worlds and being together causes them to question everything, and learn to trust. This is a suspenseful, and very hot and sexy story that will keep you totally engaged from start to finish. It is made even more exhilarating thanks to the wonderful narration by Melissa Moran, and J.F. Harding. They balanced each characters strengths and vulnerabilities so perfectly and amplified their explosive chemistry, making this a very steamy listen! I was totally lost in this world as they made me feel all the doubt, fear, heartache, joy, and passion of this story.
This is the fourth book in the series and while not my favourite one, it's an amazing story. I loved it, even if I'm still unsure about my feelings for Dom and Allie's acceptance of who he is. They're not perfect but they fit each other and that's all that matters

I really wanted to like this one. But for me it was just too slow, and I felt like I was left waiting for something that never came. I felt if Dominick was going to have all these stalker tendencies somewhere in the book they needed to be justified. This book just didn’t work for me at all, and I normally like Ms. Landish’s books. However, I just didn’t feel like there really was much meat to this book in my opinion, not a lot of romance, suspense, story or heat. Kinda of felt like a lot of repetition of stalker behavior, Dom following Allie, Logan following Allie, Gavin following Allie. Login reporting on Allie’s movements etc. I kept reading waiting for something big to happen and it never did. This was just a very anti-climatic book. Just my opinion.

This book was great. I loved that it had lots of spice but it wasn’t focused on the spicy scenes. Dom and Allie had so much chemistry and a really interesting dynamic. Lots of action in this book that filled out the plot and I enjoyed reading it.
This was a bit of a spin on the mafia romance genre. Dirty Secrets by Lauren Landish follows Allison Bancroft, trained ballerina turned exotic dancer and her “boss” Dominick Angeline, Mob Boss of East Robinsville and owner of the club the Allison works at. After months of dancing around each other’s possible connection, Allison is thrust into the dark side of Dominicks world after her life is put in danger. To protect her, Dominick puts her under 24 hour surveillance. When Allison and Dominick finally let their feelings become action, Dominick has to decide whether he wants to show her his world or keep her in the dark. What he doesn’t know is that the choice isn’t his and they learn to work and compromise to make a life with each other. This was a great read! Allison was a very empowering character and I enjoyed her fierceness! Definitely looking forward to what the rest of the series has to offer.
