Pole work at its best!
I loved how Lauren Landish described Allie's dancing on the pole. She showed that it is indeed a workout all by itself but also a beautiful art form that is crafted. I absolutely loved Dom and Allie, they have been the best couple in this series and this has been my favorite book in the series. I think because there was a build up of the two characters in Dirty Deeds it made their story that much more enjoyable. Hopefully some of the secondary characters in Dirty Secrets will be getting their own stories.

**My thanks to the author and Hidden Gems for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
This is a slightly different Mafia book in that Dominic really does not have a chance at overpowering Allie Bancroft, a stripper at one of his clubs. Having had his eye on her since the beginning and not been able to anything about it but protect her from afar, the change in her working contract with him gives him the green light to pursue the relationship with her that he wants, only Allie is strong willed and will not be bent quite as easily as most others around him.
Allie is a very strong woman, she has battled a career change after her ballet career ended early after an injury along with an eating disorder that she still battle. Paying for her medical bills led her to working at Petals and meeting Dom.
There are good strong characters and the plot moves well with dual points of view and a could of extra thrown in to help the story along. Both Dom and Allie have to soften points of themselves and adjust to a relationship with the other and learning where compromise is needed or they need to stand firm.
I really liked this book and look forward to seeing more from this author.

Mafia romances are among my favorite! Give me a good romantic suspense and I am happy. And yes, Lauren Landish has made me extremely happy with Dirty Secrets. Allie is a ballerina turned teacher and pole dancer. She is trying to get ahead and working at Petals From Heaven, Dominick's strip club. These two have been dancing around each other for a while, but with Allie being his employee,he can only protect her from afar. And protect her he does! Now the situation has changed, and they are acting on their attraction. Their chemistry is off the charts and they are falling fast. But will Allie be able to deal with being the Mob Boss's woman? Will Dom be able to let her into his world? Suspense, danger, trust and love are forefront in this action packed, hot and passionate book. Allie is full of spunk, not a woman to stand back and be left in the dark. Dom is strong and protective, and full of secrets. They soon find out that being apart is not an option, so transparency is key. A little dark, a little thrilling and a lot of steam, this book had me pulled in from the beginning and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen. This is the best kind of book!
JF Harding and Melissa Moran took me on this ride with Dom and Allie and two better narrators could not have been chosen. There is something dark in the undertones of Harding's voice, he is perfect for the broody Dom. Allie needs that bit of attitude with the underlying vulnerability, and Moran delivers. The performance had me entranced the entire listen.

Oh wow what a fantastic book❤️🔥❤️
Lauren has done it again gah so in love with these 2 from the get go.
This is Dominic and Allie's love story of sorts it kinda reminded me of a cat and mouse game and now the cat has come to claim the mouse.
Dom is the Boss of Robinsville he's ruthless but fair, but all bets are off when it comes to his obsession his lil Allie and all she has to do is smile to make him feel human and Dom will do anything to protect her at no matter the cost.
Oh damn this book was so freaking good I didn't want it to stop just keep on going.
The way these 2 danced around each other was like a match waiting to be lit and when it did holy smokes was it hot.
I would definitely recommend picking this lil jewel up.
This is just my opinion and my voluntary review

My only experience with Lauren Landish prior to Dirty Secrets was a book co-written with Willow Winters. I didn't know what to expect when I received an ARC of this book. What I found was a story that tugs at your heart and your mind.
Could you fall in love with a man who is dangerous and bent on possessing you? That is the question of this story. The book follows Dominick and Allie. At the start of the story, Allie is a dancer who works in Dominick's strip club. It is clear from the outset that the two have chemistry. However, Dominick's life as The Boss of the place where they live is dangerous, and he has kept Allie away from it out of her protection. Unfortunately, his interest in her is immense, and he does everything to protect her, including infringing on her privacy. Can Allie accept this? Is she able to look past him as The Boss and allow him to love and protect her in his way? Read this story to find out.
Together, Allie and Dominick are special characters. Allie sees so much more in Dom than most people. She seems to look past his facade, unlike most people. And Dom is protective and loves Allie in his own way. There are times when you see how he might be going too far in his need to protect her, but you always understand it's his way of loving her, so you look the other way.
The ancillary characters of this story add another layer of depth from Allie's brother, TJ, who is dealing with relationship heartbreak to Allie's bodyguards, who seem to be the wisest people in the book. They provide the much-needed voice of reason for both of the main characters when they hit struggles.
There is something so sweet and sexy with this relationship. You will swoon at Dom's overprotectiveness and love for Allie, and you will cheer for Allie's generous spirit and honesty with Dominick. I didn't know what to expect from Lauren Landish. Thankfully, she easily surpassed my wildest wishes.

A lot of promise but ultimately lackluster
I had high hopes for this book - it was an intriguing story line and there were moments that went really well and others that fell veeeery short. I didn't like the back and forth between Allie and TJ. It seemed like it was harping too hard on how shitty of a human Dominick, but done in an almost awkward way. I also felt like Lauren tried to have a lot of different plot points in the story to keep it interesting and have it be something new, but there were some plot points that never got wrapped up. I wish there was more detail about the attack in the beginning of the story.
Overall I had a lot of hope for this story to work out, and I did finish it. But I felt like there needed to be some more refinement to make the story move a little bit smoother.

I'm not one for 'dark' romances. They're probably the last thing I pick up. When I read a romance I want to be romanced and for me that's sweetness and light hearted writing. Dark romances like this can make my mood plummet and even the HEA doesn't always pick me back up. That's on me though.
That all being said, I did find myself enjoying this. It took me 2 days to read it, having to put it down cause I wasn't in the mood for it and needed to cheer up.
So Dom is a mob boss and Allie is one of the strippers. But shes really a ballet dancer so shes graceful and wonderful etc etc. They fall in love almost slowly but they've always been in love it just takes a lot to get them to open their eyes and realise it.
I can't say I'd read this again but I have enjoyed this series.

This book is more telling than showing. I need more showing how Dominic and Ally starts their romance. That first spark. The author just took us right in the middle where Dominic already obsessed with Ally. Dominis background also more telling than showing. I do not get vibe from him that he is a dangerous man. Instead he is just a stalker.
His secrets are also not so dramatic. Dominic and Ally chemistry is also lacking. Where is that part where swooning happens? The story is promising. Really promising. Its just the characters development/ chemisty is lacking. And the book is too long. 10 hours of audio book.
Overall I only enjoy the sex scenes than the characters.
