Aww tan tierno.
Lara Jean me resulto un poquitín insoportable (como casi todas las protagonistas de los contemporáneos) pero estuvo bien. Eso sí, creo que es una mentirosa compulsiva, casi peor que Cinder (casi)

😭😭😭
That was actually such a great contemporary and while I knew I would like it, I didn’t realize it would be this much!
It started off really intriguing and the whole fake boyfriend thing with Peter was really interesting and I figured they would end up falling for each other for real 😏 and when they finally admitted it I was so happy!
The middle had some slow parts, but the end it was killed me and made me give this a higher rating. Honestly the whole break up with Peter was so sad, but what got me crying was Margot and Lara Jean’s fight and then when Kitty admitted she sent out the letters. And then when she filled the box with Peter’s letters 😭
ALSO that cliffhanger??? She started writing a love letter to Peter and I turned the page and it was the acknowledgments??? So, I ordered the second book immediately.

This book did not end how I thought it would. 3.75 stars (almost 4, but that ending...)
(I round my 3.75 stars up to 4 lol)
Lara Jean Covey has only ever loved five boys. One of which is her older sister's boyfriend and the cliche popular guy from school. To get over the boys she loves, but can never be with, she writes them love letters. Things start to fall apart for Lara Jean when her private love letters are sent out, to all the boys she's ever loved.
I really did enjoy this book: Great family/sister aspect, deals with young love (obviously), and loss.
The relationship between Lara Jean and her older sister Margot really reminded me of my sister and I which really had me flying through this book so quick!
As a main character I really liked Lara Jean. I thought she was unique and funny. And Kitty was just adorable. Margot could be annoying at times (which is pretty sad because she sometimes reminded me of myself) but she didn't really bother me that much.
The romance was really frustrating. At sometimes I found myself rooting for Josh (Margot's boyfriend) and other times I found my self rooting for Peter (popular guy from school)
It was just really confusing and the ending actually made me mad. I felt like this book could have been longer. How could it just end like that? I'm so glad there is a sequel because I need answers!
Although I have this almost four stars I would totally recommend it. It was very quick and cute. :)

It's a nice quick and fluffy read. I like Lara Jean's personality and relate to her awkwardness. And of course, Peter Kavinsky is perfect!
2.5
I wasn't very much into the main character; Lara Jean plays it way too oblivious half the time and I'm done with and over that trope of the overly innocent main lead. Peter is a nice surprise, though. He has a lot of substance where he could've been written as a dark brooding douche grande, so I'm a fan of his character. All in all, most of the characters were very pleasant to read about... save for Lara Jean in many cases.

I thought the movie was cute and sweet and expected the same out of the book, but all the characters were useless at best and mostly all were problematic. Peter and Kitty were the only people I could kind of tolerate. Josh is patronizing and the main perpetuator of the theme that Lara Jean is and should be innocent and needs him to protect her from boys.. since girls are not allowed to desire sex in this world. Margot is boring and curmudgeony for an 18 year old and furthers the narrative that girls should not have anything to do with sex. And even in fiction the bar for fathers to take care of their families is so low that 16 year old Lara Jean is meal planning and grocery shopping and raising Kitty for literally no reason. He's also a horrible ob gyn if he can't even talk to his own daughter about sex without making it, once again, a shameful thing. This book was fine until post-ski trip when I almost threw my Kindle against the wall after it turned into a slut-shaming, horrible message to young women. Why couldn't Lara Jean have been allowed to want sex in the first place, like a normal human? And when people thought she had had sex with Peter, why did *all* the characters make her feel bad about it? I truly don't understand the point of this book, beyond these huuuge issues the characters were boring, there was no growth and .. it just ended.. without any resolution. Super disappointing.
