I enjoyed Baum’s fuller vision of the story of Dorothy and her adventures in Oz. As you can imagine, it’s very different from the MGM film, starting with the fact that Oz is not a dream but real.

Wizard of Oz has been my favourite book as a child.
Re-read it but with this edition before watching Wicked.

Super cute! I've always loved the movie so it was super fun to read the original source material. Some of the parts were weirdly dark, but it also was quite funny too.

It's been a long time since I'd read this book so I decided to give the audiobook a listen. I also forgot how very different the book is from the movie, which I knew would be the case. I did laugh at the fact that Dorothy called Toto a meat dog and how they were talking about heart disease. It also made me chuckle when the narrator made the cowardly lion sound like he was going to cry every time he talked.
