I entirely enjoyed this colorful and witty Dictionary. Many of the words were new to me, and that was part of the joy of this book. Learning new words, phrases and a short history of their usage, and if it is derogatory to some was well thought out. This was such a fun read...engaging and bright graphics, this is a must read. Loves this!

I was really disappointed by this book (I read the British edition, being Australian). There was a number of things I was disappointed in: one being the book is actually quite acephobic. Many of the definitions relating to asexuality are offensive. Additionally other aspects of the book are unnecessarily explicit (e.g. examples for words that don’t relate to sex) which makes ace readers uncomfortable. The book is beautiful, but almost impossible to read if you’re visually impaired, suffer from sensory disorders and/or migraines. Finally, some of the British additions are highly offensive to ‘crown territories’ - since most ‘crown territories’ want nothing to do with Britain, predate Britain with marriage equality laws.
Graphic: Sexual content, Outing, and Acephobia/Arophobia

Honestly way better than I expected, a lot of these coffee table gay dictionary books are very reductionist and cash grabby but this one felt more grounded in reality and care for the community

Did I read this dictionary cover to cover? Yes, yes I did.
