Santa madre del señor, esto cambio mi química cerebral. An Zhe es un honguito con una misión: recuperar su espora ❤️
Lu Feng me parece interesante.

Estoy segura que Shisi leyó a Karl Marx. La quiero mucho. Quiero entrar en su cerebro.

"when the aurora is lit again, the colonel will return" 😭

-an zhe really is just a little mushroom :')
-i was SO invested in this
-i loved the vibe between the two mcs even though they had such little dialogue, I was kicking my feet regardless. I'm a sucker for a cold hearted character slowly softening
-an zhe really is so cute
--the mcs could have been developed a little better but I enjoyed them and their dynamic regardless
-the world building in this was great! Such a cool concept
-the translation was a little off at some points, but that's okay :)
-as dark as the concept is, an zhe's narration comes off as naive, making it feel lighter than it is; I actually enjoyed his narration a lot
-the short POVs from Lu Feng were great, I wish there were more

-there aren't many other notable characters in this novel. The novel focuses on the two leads and uses side characters mainly as plot devices. Some people didnt like this, but I didn't particularly care

-time to immediately start the next book- I'm so invested

3⭐

I might have had a bit of high expectations for this danmei, cause I really didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would TT

To be fair this was very much a “this just isn’t for me” story (considering it’s heavy on the sci-fi), but at the same time it felt like a lot of what happened, happened for nothing and there wasn’t much purpose to the story. The main plot is An Zhe searching for his spore, but most of the story has nothing to do with that and it feels like they’re just passing time, and only at the end of the book we see development in An Zhe finding his spore. Not to say I didn’t enjoy the book, it has its good moments and I liked how a lot of chapters ended on a big reveal or plot twist that made you curious to read more. But at the same time sometimes it was so hard to pick up the book back again.

Now I know this is a danmei, and they’re usually very soft on the romance, but the romance here was basically non existing. An Zhe and Lu Feng would look at each other, there would be some soft touches, I mean there was even a “only one bed” scene, but none of it felt romantic. Maybe because An Zhe was just learning how to be human and all these feelings were new to him, maybe because Lu Feng was just a cold person, idk. You could tell how much Lu Feng cared about An Zhe with how he was always making sure he was safe, but that’s about it.

My favorite part of the book was definitely An Zhe, I really liked his characters and character development.
