It’s challenging to fairly rate a book that started my love of reading years ago. 
Alanna was the blueprint for a female defying the odds to be a warrior. And her story still holds up. I love temper and how she buckled down and does the work that is needed. I love her wit and her loyalty to her friends. 
I’ve read this book many times before I will likely continue to reread it forever.
