Growing up this was my first book of a girl training to become a knight. Is it perfect? No, the author had to grow and learn to write diversity better (she eventually did it well but not in this book). But it does excellent depictions of different kinds of strengths, world building, and magic systems.

Well, this is my 2nt time reading this book. I admit the book was far more suited for my age the first time I read it. I remember the first time I read it I read this one sentence where she was naked over and over again, feeling embarrassed for her that a man was seeing her naked. Now I read over it without 2nt thought, it does not seem risque at all to me now. Still this book is very enjoyable, much more than the Circle of Magic books by the same author.
