This book was so fun to read and extremely enjoyable. Ear to the Serpent is packed with queer romantic tension, Aztec mythology (although not in great detail), mystery, and a splash of comedic relief. I found many moments in the novel relatable (I am a 25 yr old female). The descriptions sucked me into the world, and left me wanting more. I would have loved to see more scenes expanded upon and possibly show different character views since the book is entirely written from Maya's perspective, but nothing in the book felt unadressed which was amazing! I'd recommend this novel for a mature reader, as there are few spicey moments, who wants a quick read and a book that wraps everything up by the end.

Thank you Stacey for allowing me to read your new novel in advance. I can't wait Ear to the Serpent to official release next year!

Firstly, thank you so much to Stacey for the e-ARC copy of the novel. I’ve been so thrilled since I received it!

From the get go, I was excited to dive in and start reading. From the mystery aspects, to the lgbtq+ representation within the novel, and so on, this book was right up my alley and it most certainly did not disappoint.

I read this in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed every second. It’s a fast paced, edge of your seat read that had me gasping at certain parts.

I especially loved the additional chapters at the end. From start to finish, this story was incredible. I’ll definitely be diving into more of the author’s work.

First of all, I would like to thank the author for the e-ARC copy of this book!

I won't lie; this moved me to tears. This book is absolutely phenomenal - from its writing to the characters to heck even its design. I loved Maya and Lorenne's story so much but my favourite character was, without a doubt, Valdez - and I'm so happy with what I read in that bonus chapter at the end because honestly, he didn't deserve what he went through and I will never forgive his father for that.

While this wasn't how I thought this book would go, the author found an amazing way to twist mythology and make it their own and along the way they made me fall in love with every single word in it. And while at first, I was mad because I wanted more of this, now I've come to realise that this was more than enough. That Maya and Lorenne's story isn't complete yet but they're happy and together and that's exactly what they deserve.

I definitely recommend it to everyone - my favourite read of 2021!
