This is a difficult book to review, as I don't know much about OCD and mental illness. But I do wonder if the ending isn't too pat, too "YA perfect". It's obvious that Norah is supposed to be our window into this illness but... something just doesn't work. Maybe it's the meet-too-cute situation, or the convenience of mom being out of town?

I loved this! It was heartbreaking and sweet at the same time. I do think that the story could have been longer to show how close Norah and Luke become, but I still really enjoyed this book.

TW: self harm
Before I go further into this review, I just want to say that I really did enjoy the majority of this book, but my mental state was not at its best while reading this. If you are currently going through a hard time in the mental health department, I would suggest putting off this book until you are in a better state.
I really enjoyed this story at the beginning, but I feel that Norah’s anxiety fed into my own, which was not awesome. There was also a somewhat sudden self harm seen in the book (chapter 17, if my memory serves me correctly), which was very triggering to the point where I was fast forwarding to get past it. There were also a few more mentions of self harm, but they were as bad as the scene previously mentioned (I think the chapters were 22 and 34, but I could definitely be wrong on those since I did not keep notes and they didn’t affect me as greatly as the one in chapter 17 did.) Towards the end of the book I was ready for it to end, but I definitely believe that this was because my own mental health has not been amazing, so listening to someone else’s was a double whammy on me. The romance was pretty adorable, so that definitely made me want to continue listening and finish the book.

things i LIKED about this book:
•it deals with OCD and that hits really close to home.also anxiety, but i feel like we know SO much about anxiety now and its really cool that the author covers other(important) mental issues as well.
•i liked Norah.i LOVED her name and her
kinda morbid sense of humour.
things i didn't liked about this book:
•the "romance" part of it.girl-falls-for-the-boy-next-door-but-cant-leave-the-house is SO overused and just made me cringe.
•there were literally 4 characters in the whole book.4!!!!and we don't get to know them at all.at least not properly.not even Norah.we get to know her sickness,BUT NOT her really.and she IS NOT only her sickness.it has to be more complex then that.
overall i liked this book.i didn't love it,but i liked it.it was an easy fast read and it dealt with important issues.also the cover is gorgeous and that as vain as it is ALWAYS MATTERS.

I love a book that makes me feel something. This made me feel anxious just like the main character. Shows how good the descriptive writing was. Fast read.
