“He’d blown it with river, the last thing he wanted was for her to put him in the friend column, once a guy found him self there it was over. women were funny that way, one wrong move and you were punished for life”

I want to say it’s hallmarky but that would be a compliment so its more like what ever channel that Candace Cameron beru only wants to work for now vibe Christmas romance novel. Pretty lengthy and very cringy. Set in the very small town of wishing tree there are two couples that we follow.
Couple 1: Jake The rich everyone had a crush on him in high school hottie & camryn the girl that had to move back home from Chicago to parent her teenage twin sisters after they were orphaned and run her mothers gift wrapping shop.
Couple 2: Dylan the snow king & the man with the secret & river the snow queen, a short haired introverted comptuer security analyst.

Jake’s mom starts project Jake’s bride and continues to cross boundaries and blame other people for the repercussions. Everyone tries to help “fix” rivers introverted-ness. Dylan gaslights river for finding out that he’s a secret millionaire. Everyone just has sex to procreate & they all get married about 3 days after meeting each-other. There were so many questionable quotes that made me stop and wonder what the author truly meant… just a painfully hetero Christmas narrative, the Christmas time setting is pretty much it’s only saving grace because it gives some of the cringe a pass.

Loved getting back into Wishing Tree! The stories of Camryn & Jake and River & Dylan were truly hallmark movie worthy! We love a happy ending, though I do feel it was a bit rushed.

BROOOOOOOO THE AUDACITY OF THIS AUTHOR. I cant even with the temper tantrums of grown people who’ve ONLY BEEN DATING FOR WEEKS. I would only recommend this book if you want to rage and laugh at the same time.

I was interested to read the continuation of the Wishing Tree series. I obviously was not surprised that it featured new couples, but I was surprised that Dena from book 1 was not in this book at all...? If you like Hallmark Christmas movies and don't mind being able to predict exactly everything that will happen before it happens, then you might love this book. If you don't like a completely predictable book, then you will not enjoy it.

Camryn moved back to Wishing Tree to take care of her twin sisters. She planned to return to Chicago after they graduate. The twins find this out and were mad and upset about it.

River is new to the town and her friends nominate her for the Snow Queen. This pushes her out of her comfort zone. Dylan was the Snow King and helped River through all the activities. There is a secret that Dylan is torn to share and River figured out he was hiding something and this hurt her.

I was thoroughly unimpressed with this book. The story was mediocre and the writing felt extremely juvenile. The portrayal of the sisters was fanciful at best as they were presented in such a manner to make them seem younger than their 16 years and much more immature. None of the characters were very well hashed out.
