I loved this beautifully illustrated book on mending as instruction and metaphor. What if we could cherish things that showed signs of wear and tear by repairing them for more use? How would we change as a society if we weren't so quick to discard and truly valued restoration? Can we find beauty in things with history and relationship? This lovely book is a guide in more ways than one and will certainly inspire me to mend more often.

When I picked up Mend by Kate Sekules at the library, this was beside it and I happened to read this one afterwards… it was the perfect compliment to Mend; while Mend gave more of the history and arguments for sustainable fashion, this was the perfect how-to. The only thing I might have wanted were some inspiration pictures of mended items, but it was a beautiful art and reference book in one that I could see being really helpful to own and have on hand when mending.
