Not knowing much about Buddhist practice and philosophy, I'm not sure this was the book to start learning about its tenets. I felt a little lost reading this book. I feel like the title is misleading--while SOME of the 108 one-page teachings focus on living in the tension of not-knowing, many teachings were only very loosely linked to this topic. There are many insights on mindfulness, loving-kindness, etc. The teachings are okay, but nothing earth-shattering. I'm also not entirely sure I believe some of it's true, which likely impacted my impression of the book--there seems to be a lot of emphasis on not-feeling, not-hoping, not-reacting; I'm sorry, I just don't equate enlightenment or well-being with the emotional emptiness she seems to describe.

These short meditations on uncertainty are right on when I dare read them. (that is, when i'm not too mad about uncertainty that i can't bring myself to pick up the book.)

108 short and easy-to-read lessons on letting go, living in the moment, and embracing fear. Those without a background in Buddhism won't be too lost (maybe with some of the vocabulary), but both Buddhist and non-Buddhist have something to gain from the author's thoughts.
