Truly one of the first books where I didn't expect almost all of the plot twists. The world building was initially confusing to get through, but once I got to the actual plot, I didn't want to put the book down.

dnf. The 1 star is an overstatement for this book.

Before I got this book, I checked the reviews on GoodReads b/c I actually trust ppl on here, but HA! Never again! 100 pages into this book, and I still didn't know what was happening. I would've really appreciated it if she put a glossary at the end so I could understand what was happening since there are new (and very unique) words being introduced every few pages. Also, this book's romance was supposed to be good, but no...not at all. This book could've easily been 250-300 pages but it was unnecessarily prolonged and boring. Do not recommend this book, and never listen to Booktok!
