The Trade was so amazing! I truly enjoyed Cory and Natalie so much! We met Cory in The Dugout as Milly's brother. I really liked him and was excited to finally get his story.

The guy is a superstar baseball player in the big league and after a trade he wants to focus on having a great season with his new team. He never looked for love, deciding that with his career it was better not getting involved with anyone seriously. Everything changed when he met Natalie, his teammate Jason's sister. He became obsessed with her. It was nice to witness their easy connection right from the beginning. As it was the case with the previous books, hilarious and emotional moments were aplenty in this novel. The spicy encounters between our couple were hot! Their romance wasn't an easy one, but the journey was enjoyable!

Kelsey Navarro and Connor Crais are some of my absolute favorites narrators, needless to say they nailed their impersonifications of Natalie and Cory! This audiobook listen experience was fantastic on my part! I'm so excited for the next book!

I think I would’ve liked this book if it ended shortly after the couple got together. The more it dragged on and the more drama that arose made the whole thing less realistic and me less interested. I didn’t like that the fmc went against the mmc wishes and that’s what ultimately led to the 3rd act breakup. I thought the breakup went on for too long for them to justify being right back together as soon as they reconnect.

I also thought the fans of the team hating the player was completely unrealistic. I know it’s a book and it’s not expected to be exactly like real life, but this just seemed so far fetched that it pulled me out of the story.

Overall, it was a good book, just not a favorite.

Cory Potter--clean-cut, all-around good guy first baseman--was traded from his long-time team to the Chicago Rebels. He was a Chicago Bobcats fan growing up, and the fans hated him. He had a terrible first half-season.

He meets Natalie, sister to his future teammate, and it's almost love at first sight. But he's told she's married. Still, he can't deny his feelings for her.

Mild spoiler:

She's recently divorced, but few people know.

Long story short, they get to know each other better and fall in love. But Cory makes a terrible mistake and breaks their hearts. Get out the tissues.

How can he win over the fans and win Natalie back?

I was so excited to read a Cory book, and wasn't disappointed here. Natalie got on my nerves a bit more than I wanted but all in all I loved the interaction between the few side characters that showed up. Of course we were going to see Jason and Dottie since Nat and Jason are brother and sister.

Cory got traded to the "hated" Chicago Rebels, the fierce rivals of the Bobbies, (where are other boys play, Knox and Carson) and of course the city turns on him because he grew up a Bobbies fan, and is, wait for it, actually friends of some of the players of that rival team?! WHAT?!? (Sarcasm inserted of course)

And so it goes, but they do get their HEA of course, and this one is no different in terms of laughs from Meghan.

3,5 ⭐

Nat was clingy at times and for someone who's experienced like she kept on saying ( because she has an athlete brother) she should know better ;
Cory was stubborn sometimes, especially when it comes to admitting that things are not good and he needs help
But i thing that was the point, he worked on his problem so.... yeah , i still don't like her clingy-ness
