A strange and sardonic book, full of wry humor and a story that could only be told within the weird confines of Night Vale. A great read! I will definitely have to check out the podcast.

I actually read It Devours! before WTNV and felt like it embodied the spirit of the podcast far better than this book did. This one was just way more unfun and meandering a read than I expected. The plot was dragged out a bit too long for me to be able to relish the absurdist comedy — I was just waiting and waiting for something to happen, and not really in a white-knuckled, suspenseful sort of way. Took me forever to get through.
i really liked this book! the weirdness made to sound normal was all very entertaining and, as mild as the ending was from what i was expecting, i really liked it! good read, although some bits did get a bit boring and hard to get through towards the end.

I loved this funny, silly, weird book and the strange ass town of Night Vail!! Great humor and silliness that made me laugh the entire book and was just a delight to jump into for awhile. The library being a place of terror because of the monstrous librarians got me every time and Jackie and Diane's adventure through there was a highlight for me. Super easy to get through!
I liked that the characters had existential crisises about who they are and serious memory issues. I related to it with my memory being not that great right now from insomnia and higher anxiety. It gave me hope that I'll overcome the memory issues soon and feel fully myself agiain! The seriousness of these topics balanced well with the goofiness.
I do wish some things were explained to us - the grey pin striped suit man (who the heck was he??), and what was the relationship between Catherine and the spider in her office? Was the spider controlling her and she killed it to free herself??

Great companion piece to the podcast of the same name. The plot seemed to drag a few times but it also added depth to the weirdness that is Night Vale.
What an odd book. It's Twin Peaks meets Lost. A mystery, fantasy novel.
I just don’t care enough to invest the mental energy required to read this book.
