75 pages in and I didn't know where this book was going, if it was going anywhere at all.
However, I did enjoy the writing style, which seemed fresh and unique, but I needed more to tether me to the "story".
This was a random choice without any prior information. Perhaps prior information was needed to set or adjust my expectations.
I won't write this one off entirely just yet. TBD.

It was odd reading the words instead of hearing them. I kept Cecil's voice in mind while reading. I'm thinking the audio book would be better
Night Vale is Night Vale in any form -- but as a book, it suddenly reminds me a great deal of Pratchett. I should try Pratchett as an audio book. More on this later, I suspect.
I don't know. I just lost interest. Night Vale can be pretty clever and quirky and almost a little Douglas Adams-y. But it seems to do better at arm's length...when it's a 20 minute podcast and not a 400 page book.
I'm a big fan of the podcast but this just doesn't work as a book. There are beautifully written paragraphs here and there but as other reviewers have said, there really isn't a plot here. Or if there is it's razor thin at best. That's fine for a short (short!) story but not for something just over 400 pages. I found this an incredibly difficult read.
