i mean, what better way to have a meet cute with three dangerous men than to hit one of them with your car?

if you love mysterious dangerous men, then this is the perfect read for you. you have Seven, the one Aurora hits with her car but is honestly pretty happy about it in the end. he’s the golden retriever psychopath who understands Aurora and see who she really is. Elijah, the sweet, tortured artist who has scars from his past. and then there’s Atticus, aka “Daddicus” who is the grumpy control freak who brings in Aurora not for the reason he tells them all.

this book had me hooked immediately wanting to know why Atticus brought Aurora home with them and what these men actually do. and while you’re trying to figure all this out, you see Aurora coming back to life. this book has strong found family vibes and while these men are dangerous, you can’t discount Aurora and what she’s capable of. i already love her as a badass fmc and i can’t wait to see what else she does.

the ending of this first book is brutal and i need the next book now. so many emotions in the last few chapters, i can’t wait to see how it all plays out for them all.

🥀 thank you Elena & Blake Lawson for an e-ARC of this book

Thank you so much to @elanalawson and @theauthoragency for this #ARC. I definitely ate up this book! If you're like me and have a soft spot for morally grey, deliciously unhinged, and undeniably damaged MMCs, then buckle up.
When on the run from a bad situation, Aurora runs into Seven (quite literally) and this change sthe direction of her life forever. Offered a job to work for him and his friends, she takes it as a way to start over. Quickly though she realizes she may be in over her head, but maybe that isn’t such a bad thing.
The characters are what really drive this dual POV story. Aurora, our FMC, is an interesting character in this morally ambiguous world. While she might not always make the most brilliant moves (believing that cleaning wage definitely made me raise an eyebrow!), her resilience and determination to navigate the often-unfair circumstances thrown her way are genuinely compelling. You can't help but root for her as she faces one complex situation after another. The men though are chef’s kiss. Seven makes this book if you ask me. I love his honest and raw look at life.
“This man killed for me. He walked right into my nightmare and murdered my demon.”
Who doesn’t love a literal “touch her and d!e” moment!!! (Oh, wait, I am not supposed to swoon over murd3r? oops) Eli's heartbreaking backstory immediately tugs at your heartstrings, making you ache for everything he's endured. And then there's Atticus… oh, Atticus. He's the kind of character you simultaneously love to hate, and the burning question of whether he might find even a sliver of redemption will keep you glued to the pages.
The plot itself is catchy and well paced. The story zips along, keeping you constantly engaged and eager to know what happens next without ever feeling rushed. The central conflict woven throughout is genuinely intriguing, with layers that unfold at just the right moments, leading to a cliffhanger of what the heck is going to happen now!
I can’t wait for the next book to come out!

Holy. Crap. This book had me captivated from the first few lines. I couldn’t put it down! Devoured it in one day. The plot was incredible, full of mystery and revenge. The character development was beautiful. The spice was HAWT. And that ENDING!!! Screaming. Hanging on by a hangnail on that cliffhanger. I a thoroughly obsessed with these 5 (yes 5. I am including the dog Ellie- duh)
Also, spinoff book for Ellie? Or a chapter from her POV? I wanna know what that dog sees and what she’s thinking.

This is the first book in a new duet. We have Aurora who is on the run from her abusive boyfriend. She is driving in terrible rainstorm and hits a man in the street. He is soon joined by two other men (Seven, Atticus, and Elijah). Her car is destroyed and she has no money and no where to go. There agree to hire her as their housekeeper and pay her over 15,000 a month. Since she needs that money to disappear she is willing to accept the job. However, these three men are involved in some really nefarious deeds. Now Aurora and the three men all have deep complex histories and lives. The men are not related but have formed a family that relies and trust one another. They want Aurora to stay with them because they believe that she can help them achieve a goal. This is a dark why choose, forced proximity romance and I really enjoyed the story. I loved the complexities of each character and how they were able to blend their experiences to make the group dynamics work. Such an interesting book and premise. There is so much going on, you can’t help but be swept into the story trying to figure out what’s going on. I love a story with layers that keep unfolding and letting me in.

This book is exactly what it promises to be: dark, twisty, and addictive in the way only unhinged, revenge-fueled poly romances can be. I went in expecting some chaos and spice, and what I got was a full-on descent into obsession, found family, and "touch her and die" devotion from not one, not two, but three beautifully broken men.

Elijah is the calm before the storm, Atticus is the storm itself, and Seven, oh, Seven, is the kind of quietly intense chaos that sneaks up on you and never lets go. I didn't expect to love them all as much as I did, but here I am, mentally curled up on that cursed mountain estate like I belong. The slow shift from survival to connection was one of my favorite parts, watching the FMC stand her ground, push back, and grow into the fire they never expected her to wield.

And the setting? That isolated mountain home dripping with secrets and shadows made the perfect backdrop. It felt suffocating and sacred all at once. The forced proximity, shared pain, and need for vengeance bound them all together in ways that felt raw and real, even when the lines between love, control, and obsession blurred to near-invisibility.

The dog named after me? 10/10 no notes.

This is one of those reads that dances right on the edge of comfort and madness, and that’s exactly why it works. It’s not soft, it’s not safe, and it’s definitely not for everyone. But if you like your romance a little twisted, your men a little ruined, and your story full of blood, steam, and loyalty carved into bone, you’re going to eat this up like I did.

ARC review

The book was amazing, the chemistry between the characters was just *chef’s kiss.* the kinks hit all of my kinks and had me googling the piecing that sounded like a spell from HP. Let’s just say Colored me intrigued. The spicy was scratching an itch that had been missed. The boys had each their own niche and dynamic with our FMC that were so different yet work so well. The story got me hooked right away! I can’t wait for the next book!!! I’m intrigued the direction the authors went with the ending! It wasn’t jaw dropping but one of those oh this is the climax/the next chapter is gonna be great then boom. See you in book two, I can wait for the next one!

When Aurora quite literally runs into Seven, she and her dog, Ellie, are brought back to his house that he shares with Elijah and Atticus, since her car is totaled. She is looking for a break and is offered a job to help clean their house- or so she thinks. When she needs to get her hair done, she, Sev, and Eli go to Paris, and she is thrown into more of their world. As it turns out, they have ties to the underground art world, and she can help them against their foe. She and the guys have grown closer, and more of their pasts are revealed, leading her to contemplate the idea. However, the events of the cliffhanger took them all by surprise. This is the first book in the duet, and I can’t wait to see what happens next: Atticus has a long way to grovel.

This is one wild ride and may have one of the most unique meet cutes I've come across.  I can definitely say I haven't read an FMC meeting the MMC by knocking him over with her car before! Seven is an absolute legend; he is so infectious and you can't help but love him.  That man is all in from day one and had me from the moment he went to carve a name. Aurora is an interesting FMC too and is a lot more than the broken shell she became after being under Jesse's thumb for so long; there are a couple of bombshell lines that really surprised me and I'm looking forward to filling in the gaps in her past in the next book.

Elijah is my favourite of the MMCs though which really surprised me as he is not my usual type. There is just something about the way this character is written that grabbed my heartstrings and didn't let go! His scene with his father and his backstory reveal to Aurora were some of the most emotional parts of the book for me.  I absolutely loved the heist too; it was a perfect blend of action and witty banter and seeing Elijah come back to life was amazing.

Atticus though, what an absolute dodo.  And it was all going so well too - bring on book two as I am here for the incoming grovel and for the plan to unfold!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
