Tessa Bailey

I feel like Wes and Bethany are the most well-rounded characters in this series. Cute and cheap

Knew it was too good to be true that I gave two romance books (act your age, eve brown & the spanish love deception) 4 stars BACK-TO-BACK. Somewhere along the way, one's bound to disappoint, and unfortunately, this book was it.

My love for Tessa Bailey knows no end. I don’t like nicknames and Tessa’s characters use them and for some reason I melt. I don’t find Texas accents attractive and she gives Wes the accent and I swoon. I don’t like a possessive male character but my heart squeezed with Wes’ protection of Bethany.
I didn’t realize this was the 3rd book in the series but I wasn’t going to stop reading after I started. That being said you could read it as a stand alone book. I will be going back to read the 1st and 2nd books. Part of me feelings like I should go backwards at this point but the ocd in me tells me to go back to book 1.
Anyway, loved it, you should read it. It’s sweet, predictable, “enemies” (but they know they like each other) to lovers, and super spicy. What’s not to like?!

This book is classic Tessa Bailey. It's quirky, dirty, funny, and a little silly. If that's not your thing, you're not going to like it.

I loved the anxiety rep. The FMC was totally relatable and the way the MMC soothes her worries is swoon worthy. Normally, I'd have trouble falling for a twenty-three year old MMC, but given Wes's history, I assumed he was a mature twenty-three. The relationship between him and his niece is precious.

It's true that there's some gendered language, hyper masculinity, and over the top possessiveness that teeters on the brink of problematic. That too is pretty typical of this author and I've learned to accept it as part of the package. I don't think her writing is meant to be realistic. She plays things up for fun.

Overall, it was a joy to read.
