A childhood favorite that I still relate to as an adult. ❤️

This book would go well with Rump by Leisel Shirtliff.

August 2017 - we read this book on the first day of school. Kids really related to the teasing and could relate to how Chrysanthemum felt. For homework, the students wrote a paragraph about their name. Why did their parents choose it? What does it mean? etc.

One of my absolute favorite books from my childhood. Just thinking about it makes me feel warm fuzzies.

A lovely book about the power of words and the influence we have on each other as young children. Beautiful illustrations and a solid message about being kind and unique.

This book is about how fickle and mean kids can be and how easy it is for some adults to use Jedi mind-control techniques on them. In the sequel, I bet Chrysanthemum has trouble finding gainful employment because her name won't fit on job applications.
