This made me even more interested in the next books with Ahnna because of what happens in this.
It's a cute short snapshot of Lara and Aren. Definitely spicer than the books Lara and Aren are in, but I liked what we got to see overall.

I just had to read this before book 3 I couldn't wait

so perfect. everything and more that i needed from Lara and Aren but at the same time, i'm so sad that they'll no longer be the main characters in the bridge kingdom series. no matter what they'll be the most iconic ones and they are the ones where it all began

4.5⭐️ A short story that REALLY should have been at the end of book 2. Its only 6 chapters and it picks up right at the end of book 2… why wasn’t it just included?? It would have raised my rating of book 2 significantly bc we finally get to see what we were waiting for with Aren and Lara- them back together again and in love vs hate or misery! Plus it had some spice and it gave us more of a view of how the Ithicanian people came to accept Lara, some what.
It classifies this as book 3.5, and to read after book 3, but I’d read it right after book 2 since it picks up right at the end of book 2 with no spoilers for book 3 (except maybe for the last lines that says a war is coming- but you don’t know who/what/where etc. and all of these books are about war).

This novella was very enjoyable and exactly what I needed after the long war chapters in the previous book! I reco everyone reading this one straight after book 2
