0 stars for me. Hated every minute of this book. Boring plot, underwhelming drama, flat characters. The writer have a brilliant idea; our world with royalty on every corner. This could be a contemporary game of thrones but she chose to do a super teen childish story, zero real conflict, or believable problems that turns to be my most hated book of all times.
I loved this book. I loved the layout and how it was split into the 4 different POV's. Obviously there were characters and POVs I was more interested in than others, but they were all very enjoyable to read. The romance was really nice and it was really nice to always have one of the POVs be heavily focused on the romance aspect and to see that shift throughout the book as the characters were going through different things and events. The intertwining of different characters and events from different POV's was really interesting. I felt many emotions while reading this book and am very excited to read the 2nd book in this series.
A little dramatic, but fun and engaging characters. Definitely reading #2!
I *love* books like this, just love them. This was a great fun read, characters that you cheer for, a mustache-twirling baddy and... an ending that leaves it was open for book two. For fans of Royals, or anything by Sarah Dessen or that ilk this is worth your time!

**NO MAJOR PLOT SPOILERS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS REVIEW**
"“Relationships never make sense from the outside; the only people qualified to weigh in on them are the people in them.”
Goodness...the amount of angst and drama in this book....I swear. The audiobook just makes it so I have to live throguh everybit of it because i cannot skim. The drama is insane. I feel like it was even worse than ancient politicial intrigue...because of the modern elements like socialmedia and such...my goodness...I wanted to both hate and love the drama...lmao, which is how I feel about drama in real life. I am unsure what the exact plot of this novel was, it just seemed like several characters storylines weaving and interwining, and half the characters i didnt even care about...
The thing that definitely made the story were the characters, obviously. I cannot comment much on the writing, since I diddo the audiobook, but I feel like if I had read the book I would have skimmed throguh several sections because some of the proses did seem long and weighty but with the audiobook that sped it up. I think my favorite character was Ethan, lmaooooo, and he wasnt even a main dude. Ethan and Connor, the men who deserved more. Seriously. I dont know what Ethan saw in daphne, but he definitely deservedbetter.
And my sweet connor, he deserve all the love in the world, and while i washoping for a guard romance, i dont know...
As for the actual main characters... Beatice has alot on her plate to deal with and its only natural for her to spin out and cling to what she knows. She was under alot of pressure and i admire her trying to keeep her wits about her. But i also was rooting for a guard romance, lmao
Sam is just,,,i dont know. WIld and reckless but she deserved a chance at love to.
Nina was likeable aswell, just an ordinary girl sucked into the royal life. She didnt ask for fame, but it found her nonetheless. I admired how down to earth she tried to be, despite everything thrown at her.
Jefferson was an idioi to be honest...i think he just kinda of liked attention and didnt really care much about anything else...
I hated daphne and dreaded her chapters. I have no sympathy forher and she can just be yeeted for all i care.Thank you for coming to my ted talk
