I wanted more from Heather! But I did appreciate her vulnerability with leaving the church and talking through her process. It resonated with me. I’m excited to read her second book! I wish she did a tell all dirty dish on her costars. I bet there’s a lot we don’t get to see.

You can see as the author's writing style evolved as she was writing the book. In the beginning she was overly descriptive. In the middle analogies were heavily present without warning. In the end there was a somewhat more cohesive story but it was told from her perspective where earlier in the book, while technically still first-person, it read as an unreliable third-perspective of herself.

5⭐️for Mormon content.
2⭐️for writing and housewives content.

3⭐️overall.

Message was overall inspiring for someone like me with the cultural/religious competency, who has also left the religion.
