Honestly this book was like an illustrative guide for how to tell not show. What plot there was was entirely predictable, but for the most part everything these characters did was a set up for them to have sex.
I can honestly say these characters did not do much for me either. Archer is endlessly wealthy, and Serenity is somehow The Best Painter Ever and just doesn’t know it. Archer threw literal millions of dollars at Serenity, which is especially wild considering he’s supposedly a self made success. I also didn’t like Tyra, was kind of blah about Ezra (for all he’s there, he’s more or less a prop, not a person), and didn’t enjoy Serenity’s parents.
Also the references to the others books were probably fun for readers of that series, but it added 0 to the narrative.
Not to mention the overuse of “for a moment”. I can handle one or two cheesy references to the book title but once you start laying it on thick I’m out.

I am so glad I put this on my TBR
I was so sad when the Windsors series finished, but I am so excited for everything that Cat has in store.
(4.8/5) This story was so beautifully written. The angst, the tension, the turmoil all were placed so intricately throughout the book that I had to take some breathers to calm down lol. I enjoyed watching the push and pull of Serenity and Archer and trying to find their balance with each other. It was very interesting to read and I enjoyed it alot. There are some topics that are sensitive more towards the end, but they do not go into heavy detail. Watching someone you love still be in love with someone else hurts, and I can empathize with Serenity and Archer so much. I am happy they got their happy ending, but it was not an easy road.

Okay I really like this book. This book was one of those books that you say 1 more chapter and soon you end up finishing it before putting the book down. The brother's best friend and workplace romance is done so well. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters. This book had me feeling all the emotions and I went to bed in a book hangover. 5/5⭐ 3/5
