enjoyed this way more than I expected. One of the few period romances where I didn’t hate the guy for being so misogynistic and controlling like he was a slay. Their relationship was really cute and I was really rooting for them. Also glad it included pre marital sex!!!

This is my first Eva Leigh novel and oh boy did I love this one.

Kieran Ransome needs a respectable lady and Celeste needs someone to be wicked with. Match made in heaven.

Kieran Ransome is my favorite book boyfriend of 2022. This man y’all. He writes poetry, has a dirty mouth (god I love that in a historical romance), and supported Celeste so wholeheartedly. He’s just…so dreamy. I LOVED his relationship with Finn. It was so sweet to see their bond on paper!

Celeste is such a GREAT heroine! She tries so hard to resist Kieran, but in the end, respectability isn’t as important as making Kieran hers. Their late night rendezvous were absolutely delicious. And I’m not joking when I say the dirty talk was just….so good.

I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

Thank you to Netgalley for an E-ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own!

Have you ever read a the first chapter of a book and it instantly made you regret that you didn’t wait for the entire series to come out first because you want to read all of the books NOW? Well, that was my experience when being instantly immersed into this story and getting a peek at future books. I am very excited- but, I digress…

Kieran is an unabashed rake and Celeste is a girl who bites her tongue and does her duty all while longing for the freedom to decide her own path. The two come together over a deal to help Kieran become more respectable and Celeste to experience a bit of a wild time before she must marry.

Watching these two aid one another in their individual endeavors was entertaining and the pacing of the story kept my interest. If there were ever two people who absolutely belonged together, it would be Kieran and Celeste.

Kieran had an absolutely brilliant character arc. At the beginning of the story he was a total scoundrel and by the end he was such a compassionate human being. There was so much depth to his character and an abundance of growth over the course of the novel that made this read highly enjoyable.

I am looking forward to the rest of the series and highly recommend it to any reader who loves a great romance between two people who compliment one another beautifully.

Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager via NetGalley for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Two leads who have much more to themselves than they show the world, dirty talk, hot intimate scenes, secret identities--oh my.

I loved both Celeste's kindness and her ruthless skill at the social game; I loved Kieran's constant awareness of how his actions were impacting her and his friends, and how he worked within that. The burden of expectations--crushing in her case, harmfully absent in his--was equally devastating to both of them and I liked the way they navigated that and supported each other. I also adored Rosalind as a friend and the little nods to queerness and people of color simply being there in a way many historical romance authors don't address. (I want Rosalind's book.)

This series has tons of potential and I am looking forward to reading the others in the series!! A few thoughts:
-We stan a consent king.
-The brother's friend is the love interest.
-Steamy and sweet
-low level drama.
This is an enjoyable read and the audiobook was well done!

An error of judgment complicates the existence of three young men enjoying their lives as rakes, wastrels and gamblers. Their parents are fed up with them and decide to take drastic measures. And of course the series will follow the attempts of all three men to set their lives to rights…
The first is Kieran, third son of an earl, who seems to be in a constant mad chasing of pleasure, but who in reality is in possession of a good, kind heart and of a fierce desire to be accepted for who he is. In order to abide by his parents’ wishes, he needs to reform his character and there’s only one person who can help him doing that…
Celeste is sick and tired of being a good girl for the sake of protecting her family name and improving her family standing in society. And when the handsome friend of her brother asks for her help, she offers him a bargain…
Witty dialogues, funny moments and a little angst all concur in shaping a perfect book. I loved Celeste and Kieran so very, very much and their chemistry was really off the charts! The author has an uncanny ability of digging into the depths of feelings and bringing them to life and she created two very believable characters and some intriguing side characters that I look forward to seeing in action in the following books. A thoroughly enjoyable read and it’s really a pity that I can’t give it more than five stars!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
