Interesting perspective of the Atlanta PD in the 70s. I always enjoy how Slaughter writes from different POVs and has the story spanning only a few days but finding ways to weave in references to the past to build each character. I found  this one to be a little slower paced than the Will Trent series and seemed like she was pushing more political agendas than focusing on the case. The final reveal wasn't that exciting.

I loved this book. It was a hard read at times due to the casual domestic violence, racism and sexual harassment and assault, but I was viciously satisfied by how Lawson and Murphy dealt with it.

My least favorite Karin, just a lot of racism slapping me in the face

Female cops had it rough in the 1970s! Male cops in the 1970s were such assholes! I hope things have gotten better. This is a terrific thriller and social commentary by an excellent genre writer.

Ewww. Those male characters were awful.

Another page turner by Karin Slaughter that I couldn’t put down. Being based around the Atlanta Police Department in the 1970s, the pervasive racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. definitely made it hard to read at times, but the female cops were the stars of the show.
