This was a struggle to get through. No likable characters, no one to sympathize with. In fact they all deserved whatever was coming to them. Too many good books out there to read, so pass this one by.

This is the most disappointing book I have read in a long time. I love a good horror novel, and Lindqvist had earned my respect and admiration with "Let the Right One In." However, nothing he has written since then has matched the power of his first novel. "Little Star" had promise, and I have to admit that I was riveted to the story until the very end, but the book did not deliver. The book is chock full of gratuitous violence, and there is never an explanation for it- in fact, Lindqvist makes a point to choose multiple innocent characters to become victims of violence and murder for no reason whatsoever. The main characters in this story are extremely mentally disturbed, and while they start out with some redeeming qualities in the beginning, I was left feeling completely disgusted by all of them. I have never read a story that described in detail the deaths of innocent people with such relish, almost joy. I kept reading the book in hopes that it would redeem itself, but it never did and I actually felt physically sick when I finished it. I will not be picking up any more of this author's books.

WOW this book was brutal and really good. The story took so many turns, I never felt ready for what would come next. At no point was I prepared for anything that happened in this entire book. It was super wild and I do definitely agree with reviews about this author being similar to Stephen King. There were a couple parts I didn't love, but overall I honestly could not put this book down.

An absolutely chilling, one of a kind horror story. I will read anything he writes!

This book takes a while to get to the horrific parts, but I found the whole story rather odd and engaging. I thought it was thought-provoking and very unique, which are things that I love in a story, and the horrific parts were pretty horrific.

Spoiler-vaara!

this is a DNF it wasn't great and i did not care for the characters at all. I was put off a lot by it. Maybe later on i might try to pick it up again but i am not feeling it right now.
